I recently brought a unit for my folks, they go for a extened holiday every year overseas.

The idea was to record programs to watch whilst they are away. This unit seemed to be ideal as it’s small enough to take with them and hook up to a TV. The only problem is that when a dish is not fitted there is a message reporting loss of signal overlayed on the display, which somewhat spoils watching a programme.

I cannot see how to remove this OSD message, any ideas?

Looks like the HB is different to the HDR in this respect.

No way that I can find, next software update appears to remove the banner when playing back recordings.

Thanks for the reply, hopefully the new F/W will also remove banner when playing back pre-recorded avi’s etc. I look forward to the new Software upgrade. Was going to try and “fool” the system playing around with spare LNB, as taking a dish on holiday would be a bit too much ;-)

    thanks again for your comments.

Hi, Does anyone know if the Jan firmware update solves this issue.

I’m unable to test this as my folks are away with the unit, without any means of upgrading the unit, so are watching their recordings with the OSD message on the screen!

    Many thanks!!

Once playback of recordings start, any OSD messages disappear.
