InactiveI have had my HDR1000 for just under a year. It has suddenly decided not to send audio out of the phono sockets at the rear.
HDMI audio is fine, however.
This is a problem as I hate the tinny speakers fitted to TV’s and prefer to use an external amp with proper speakers.
I have been through all the settings I can find just in case the offspring have been fiddling, but had no luck.
I have also done factory reset and HD format, just in case.
A couple of times if I left it unplugged for some time to cool down, the sound would return till it warmed up again then it would just stop again.
Any ideas people?

InactiveHave you tried unplugging it from the mains for a few mins?

InactiveYes I said that already.
If I leave it a while unplugged the sound will normally return for a while till it warms up again. Which is only 20 secs or so.

ParticipantDo you still get audio out of the scart socket ? If so a simple scart to phono adaptor could be used.

InactiveSorry meant to reply yesterday and forgot.
No there is no audio from the SCART either.
Also last night it was working ok for about 3 hours. Then this morning it worked for only 20 seconds or so before going off again.
I think a lead from the TV audio out back to the Amp is in order.

InactiveI am currently using the headphone out from the TV back to the Amplifier.
This works ok but the TV volume has to be set to 90% to get a suitable output level.
I really think it must be a fault with the unit.

InactiveI’m getting used to the box and new style hand set but glad I opted for the 5 year warranty with RS.

On Humax boxes 100% volume is equivalent to the default output on boxes where the audio output sockets aren’t affected by the volume control. Whack the volume up to 100% on the Humax remote volume control, have you still got a problem ?

InactiveThanks guys for all your suggestions.
Humax customer services were very helpful and have replaced the unit under warranty.
This is despite the retailer having gone out of business.
They dropped off a refurbished unit and collected the old one.
Replacement unit working fine.
One very happy Humax customer.
