Hi,
I’m assuming you mean for local German TV only.
There are a few things you need to be aware of, Germany doesn’t support DVB-T2 so the equivalent HD won’t be available, They do have HD via mpeg4 and in theory this should work. Some channels require a viewing card for HD though. What will work is SD standard definition, however only via a normal aerial. Most German flats/appartments use cable and according to the specs for the Humax it only supports UHF i.e. normal aerial and not cable.
iplayer won’t work as you won’t have a UK ip address, there are ways around this via vpn/proxy etc. Also Germany uses hbbtv for smart tv services and this is also not supported afaik with the hdr-fox-t2
To recap, if the address has a normal aerial connection then you’ll be able to receive SD, I think anything else will be a bonus if it works. I’d imagine HD should work, however nobody’s replied to confirm. If the address has a cable only connection then I can’t see the hdr-fox-t2 working.
It’s worthwhile taking it over, space permitting, at least you’ll be able to watch your recorded stuff and possibly download/copy new material on to it. Let us know how you get on
