InactiveOn my old BT Vision box, if I decided to record a programme I was watching live, it would save the recording from the start of the session, provided I had not switched channels in the meantime.
On my BT Humax, however, it only records from the moment I press the record button even though the earlier parts are on the hard drive and can be viewed by pressing rewind.
I find this surprising. Am I missing something?

InactiveNo. My mantra is if is worth watching (even live) it is worth setting a timer to record it.
If you do find yourself wishing you had recorded something you happen on by chance then there may be the +1 channel or failing that the online catch up service.

InactiveOne of my old boxes (can’t remember which one) used to do that and it was very handy.
I don’t have a dtr-t1000, but my current hdr-foxt2 will lose the entire buffer if I press record (it tends to clear the buffer all too easily for my liking), however if I rewind to the start of where I want to record from and then press record it will catch up from the buffer and record it properly to the end of the programme. It’s a bit long-winded and can take a few minutes, but a work-around nevertheless and I’ve made use of it a couple of times.
I’d be surprised if this wasn’t possible on the dtr-t1000

ModeratorOP – You are missing nothing, it is not possible on the Humax YV units.
YV have no timescales as to when or if it will be implimented.
As for the T2, that is how it is supposed to work, rewind to the point where you want recording to start and press rec.

InactiveWell I am surprised! just as well I didn’t say I’d eat my hat.
Cheers Barry, another reason for me to keep on recommending the T2 whilst it’s still around.
thanks

InactiveThanks for that. I’ll just have to record more and delete the ones I don’t want.
I found the BT Vision box quite good for a one-off payment of £30.
