I just tried to record James May’s Man Lab while my dughter was watching a movie I recorded the other night. I highlighted it in Guide and pressed ‘OK’. It said ‘do you want to stop watching this recording and go to the selected channel?’ No. So I tried highlighting and just pressing the record button – nothing happened. Is there any way to record a live programme while you’re watching a recorded one?

Is there any way to record a live programme while you’re watching a recorded one?
Assuming the program you want to record has already started then the only way is to temporarily stop the playback of the recorded program; change to the channel you want to record then press the record button (the one with the red dot on it). You can then restart playback of the recorded program.
