InactiveI just received my second HDR 1000S as a replacement for the first one that didn’t even set up. This one has the same problem. Using a single channel and swithing on, I get the Freesat/Humax logo on my TV screen and then it immediately goes into ‘No Signal’. On the Humax box dot matrix display it scrolls initialising setup, but nothing happens. I’ve switched it off and back on again ans still nothing.
This replaces a former Humax Freesat box that still works fine, so it isn’t anything to do my my existing equipment or cabling. Should I give up?

ParticipantPresuming by single channel you mean single cable then apart from making sure that a single coax is connected to tuner 1 in and not tuner 2 in baffled.

InactiveHi. I mean I’m using a single cable into tuner 1 only and nothing in tuner 2. This is the set up I’m using in my current freesat/humax setup. Thanks.

Only other thing I can think of is the centre core of the coax is either too thin (WF60 – put a slight bend in it), or cut off too short to make proper contact on the hdr-1000s. Have you tried remaking the f connector (lots of info on the net) ?

InactiveThanks again, it’s actually a premade cable, not one I put together myself.I could try putting a slight bend in it. Failing that I could make one up and see if that works. Thanks again.

Make one up from a length of PF/WF100. – Good Luck

InactiveI think that it is a HDMI handshaking problem – The “No Signal” being what your TV thinks.
I think this might be just a setup problem.
Try changing the HDMI port setting away from then back to that used or connect via scart to complete setup.

InactiveOK, I can try that too. Thanks!

InactiveI would be interested to know the brand and model of TV.

Don’t they usually just present a green or blue screen if hdcp fails to negotiate ?

InactiveI think I have seen a blank screen with my Philips with the HDR-1000S when flashing firmware. Setup could be the same?
The question is what generates the “no signal” the Humax or the TV. I guessed the TV as the HDR-1000S was still displaying an indication is was in the first time install (I guess waiting for the postcode?)
Edit: I don’t think the HDR-1000S even looks for signal until it tries to verify the postcode?

InactiveI can’t see the setup screen to input the postcode. That’s the issue I guess.

InactiveYes – On startup the initial graphics are at a fixed resolution and following this the HDR-1000S will switch to that specified in setup (Auto is the default I think).
If you TV has a scart connection then connecting it for the install will sort things out I think (remove the HDMI)- then try a fixed 1090p output setting on the Humax. Following this the HDMI connection only. I think, will be fine.

As Repassac says connecting by scart should resolve if it’s a TV issue or you really don’t have a signal. If I boot my hdr-1000s (already setup of course) without cables connected it does display no signal at tuner X. Commands like quide still work.
