Hi – there’s probably a simple solution / fix for this. The volume on my receiver’s HD channels is far louder than on the normal ones. Thanks in advance for advice in ‘normalising’ volume across all channels.
If you are using your TV as a sound source turn off ac3 (Dolby Digital) output from the box.
Menu – TV Setup – Dolby Digital – Off
That sorted it. brilliant, thanks! I had the inkling it’d be a simple fix! Dohhh!
Dolby Digital is too loud? Odd. For most people it’s too quiet.

Probably left the box volume at the default 50% so SD was quieter than the fixed volume ac3.
