Why cant I watch tv whilst recording

How can we know ?

Firstly you must be recording at least two channels at the same time. Next you can view other channels at the same time.

What these are requires more information.

What transmitter and what channels are you recording at the time ? Did you press the channel down button on the the remote to cycle through the the channels you can watch while recording.

Do you have a TV with Freeview- Tuner. Is it a smart TV connected to the internet ?. Live TV is available on many of the catch up services, not available on o a HDR-FOX-T2,

You have two tuners. If recording two at the same time there is a limited number of other channels you can watch at the same time.

Without knowing what you were recording at the same time other than using the channel up/down button on the remote to cycle through the available channels, no way to predict.

You should be able to watch any existing recordings (no tuner needed).

Then you should be able to watch any channel while recording if you have TV with a Freeview-Tuner using it’s own built in tuner,

As already suggested, some detail would be beneficial.

Apart from more detail about what you are doing.

Also what have you attempted to do so far to rectify the situation, and what happened?

Also how long has this been happening for? Have you changed anything just before it started happening?

I’ll have a guess though. Try using the TV remote and use its source button (normally marked ‘Source’ or ‘AV’ or a rectanglee with an arrow sticking in to it), to switch the TV to display the picture from the Humax.

We could all guess what the issues is and give solutions, but it would be a lot easier if you explained what the symptoms are.
