I have a FOxsat-HDR and find I can only backup files onto an ext HD not to a DVD player.

I need to do this because radio files are saved on the PVR as .TS files, which are a problem converting to MP3 files.

I have a prog that can convert, but it will only read DVD discs.

    Any ideas please

PS Unless any of you know of freeware that converts .TS to MPEG files, which I can then convert to MP3.

    thanks

Hi welcome to the forum, have you tried VLC player ? I will try one for you tommorow.

This is also said to work (Topfield REC files are transport stream with a few extra bytes of epg details at the beginning.

I convert HDR radio .ts files direct to .mp3 with Xmedia Recode from http://www.xmedia-recode.de/download.html

I still use an app called ProjectX. It works very well with my 9200T TS files, so it might be worth a try with the HDR as long as the stream is not HD (DVB-T). It strips all the individual components from the TS stream, and one of those will be an MP2(3) file.

Be warned, however, that it isn’t an intuitive piece of software.

I also find the following website to be an invaluable source of help with converting formats: http://www.videohelp.com

If the Project-x yields you mp2 files these can be edited in mp3directcut (with the addition of mpglib.dll) and then saved as mp3, it’s also good for recording.

Another good source of knowledge is Doom9
