    Hi there!

    Our Humax 8000T has just suddenly stopped working, and now it will not even turn on. We’ve checked the fuse and everything is okay. There is a red blinking light in the S/PIDF socket. There is a very slight ticking noise when unit is powered on at the plug point…

    Any advice is appreciated!

    That ‘ticking’ could be indicative of a failed hard drive. If you feel confident enough, disconnect from the mains, open the lid and unplug the 2 cables to the drive and try to power up with the drive disconnected. If you get a picture then the hard drive is faulty.
