InactiveWhen the Foxsat HDR was replaced with the HDR 1000S using the identical connections and cables, the TV does not switch on the AV amp on and the vision does not switch through from the HDR 1000S, together with other problems rendering the setup inoperable.
This the second HDR 1000S unit I have tried with identical results (John Lewis replaced the first).
Both the HDR 1000S units work perfectly when connected to a Panasonic flat screen TV directly via HDMI.
I have tried the following:
Checked all HDMI settings.
A Variety of HDMI leads of various vintages.
Reset the HDR 1000S
Changed HDR 1000S unit
When the Foxsat 1000S was replaced again with the old Foxsat HDR all was well again.
Any ideas?

ParticipantYou haven’t got the HDR-1000s set to 1080p by any chance ? The Foxsat only does 1080i.

InactiveI’m not an expert but I have a similar problem, before installing my HDR 1000s all functions on my setup were controllable by the tv remote and the CEC standard. As soon as I connect my HDR 1000s these functions stop. My dealer has come up with a temporary fix. Break the cec wire in the HDMI lead to HDR 1000s result all functions worked as before and the HDR box works as a stand alone unit.

InactiveThanks for both the suggestions. I will try out both in the next few days and post the outcomes

InactiveI feel that the most practical solution to my problem would be to disconnect pin 13 (CEC) in the lead (easier said than done}. Anybody know where such a lead can be purchased already configured?

InactiveI obtained a HDMI lead with pin 13 disconnected from Harrow Audio.I can now connect to my system if the 1000S is switched off at the be3ginning and then switched on when everything else is switched on.
My Foxsat HDR used to function perfectly!!!!
I emailed Humax support a question about this problem a week ago but the only response that I got was silence

InactiveI now have my system working with the cable with pin 13 disconnected with the proviso that I have the Humaxx 1000S switched off, and when all else including the HDMI switching is on then turn the Humax on with the remote, and what a brilliant picture.

InactiveAlthough this is a good workaround pin 13 should be connectable after all cec is an international system and mandatory. Humax have got it wrong and needs to correct it.

InactiveWhere did you get mandatory from it depends on the version of HDMI you implement.

InactiveWikipedia version of the cec standard states this.

Wikipedia version of the cec standard states this.
Look at the HDMI standard (Wikipedia) and you will see that it does indeed depend on the HDMI version implemented.

My TV has CEC the HDR-1000s doesn’t seem to create any problems with it. Need to have a play to see if I can reproduce the problem.
