InactiveWhen I record an HD channel there’s no sound on playback, in the info pane there’s “Enc” that doesn’t show on normal channels, does anyone have any idea what it means, and why I have no sound ?.

ParticipantHi welcome to the forum. Which box, how is it connected to your TV and which TV. ENC means the recording is encrypted (all HD channels are).

When I record an HD channel there’s no sound on playback,
You need to tell us which Humax box you have. One possibility if it is a Freeview box, is that you are using an old software version,.

InactiveI have an HDR-FoxT2 that has been recording SD reliably on freeview for the past year. Now that we have HD turned on in Northern Ireland I too can only get picture but no sound. I am still on freeview – any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum.
Try Menu Settings Preferences Audio change Digital Audio Out to stereo.

What software version is the box using? Anything prior to 1.02.20 will demonstrate exactly this problem.

ParticipantAlso remember that the updates are broadcast on the HD mux so if you have previously not been able to receive it you would have had to update using a USB stick.
The update is not scheduled this week or next (see http://www.dtg.org.uk/industry/download_schedule.php) so you may wish to follow the USB route anyway.

InactiveDid a software update via USB – worked a treat. Many thanks.
