Hi, Just wanted to confirm the the foxsat-hdr can output DD 5.1 over the optical connection as having a few issues trying get the amp to recognise as it usually picks up and displays DTS and DD 5.1 when received over an optical connection but all I get from the Humax is DD PLII for a dvd copied in DD 5.1 and moved using AV2HDR onto the humax?

Yes it can, open the .ts file again in AV2HDR and see what audio you have. The Foxsat won’t work for DTS though only ac3 (DD). You probably downmixed 5.1 to stereo or the original disc only had dd2.0 or you chose the wrong track. If the original file has more than 1 audio track AV2HDR will offer you the choice of which one to use.

Thanks Graham, great tip, yes AV2HDR shows AC3 2 channels, obviously thought I had ripped all 6 channels? Assume it would show 6 channels if 5.1 audio recognised, am ripping again.

    Cheers

The best way to check it is working is to watch the BBC HD previews early in the day before its schedule programming starts up.
