I have recently purchased a 5000T. I wanted to ask exactly which functions of the TV the remote could be expected to control. I have managed to get it to switch the TV on and off but nothing else.

Would also ask if anybody knows the best code from the list in the manual to use with my Hitachi 43HK6T74U, there is a huge list to choose from.

    Thank you

With my Panasonic TV, On/Off is all I have managed. The AV button brings up the AV selection menu on the TV, but I can’t do anything with it, without going to the TV remote.

As you are new to the 5000T, be aware that BBC iPlayer has failed on this and other Humax devices, so cannot be used for now. Keep an eye on this thread for more info:

Did you try the channel up/down rocker switch and then the OK button.

Yes I did, it did nothing. Anyway, I’m not bothered as I don’t use AV changes.

I have just noticed that, with my Panasonic TV, the AV button scrolls through the list of available video sources by repeated presses.

Thanks for your interest. Did you have to programme a manufacturers code in?

Another thing that bugs me is the huge difference in sound volume between the recorder and the TV. If I have the TV at its normal volume and then switch to the recorder, the sound is so low I can hardly hear it. I then have to go back to the TV and turn it up very loud then switch back to the recorder.
