I was advised to purchase a humax W-Lan Stick to enable connection to router to enable me to get bbc i playerthrough my Foxsat HDA freesat box.It does not seem to allow me to set up as only shows ethenet cable to connect
Afraid you were advised wrong; only the Freeview version of the box supports the WLAN stick. Take it back and get a refund. Other options are powerline adaptors (“Homeplugs”), or ethernet –> wifi connectors (usually designed for games consoles).
