    Hi – I’m a newbie here and would apreciate some help if anyone can.

    With the digital switchover here, over the last few months we have diligently retuned our box but today we have lost all but 10 channels. We’ve tried a factory reset but this doesn’t fix the issue.

    Can anyone help?

    Agree, and you will need to search for channels 29, 47, 48, 51, 52 and 54. Did you re-tune after the switch on Wednesday?

    However, I notice that the transmitter is very low power on 5 of the 6 MUXes. The 6th is at 20KW power while the others are no more than 2KW. That strong MUX carries 10 channels, which I don’t think is a coincidence.

    When you manual tune, check the signal strength and quality of each channel and report back to us.

    Hi FenderBender……the manual tune didn’t pick up any channels and the signal strength is as follows:

    Channel 29 – 63 varying up and down

    Channel 47 – 16 Quality 0

    Channel 48 – 15 Quality 0

    Channel 51 – 15 Quality 0

    Channel 52 – 46 Quality 10 to 50 now 0

    Channel 54 – 16 Quality 0

    Do you think it’s the transmitter and we should try again tomorrow?

    Did the ten channels you mention in post #1 come from an Automatic Search? If so they must be coming from another transmitter, or signal conditions were better earlier today.

    If the problems continue, perhaps you need to check that your aerial, downleads and connectors are performing.

    …and with our postcode, no problems seem to be reported.

    Totally bamboozled now.

    Find your local ITV region from this link and then see if there could be another transmitter in the same direction as Heathfield.

    The Manual Search targets just the transmitter you select, the Automatic Search picks up any signal that is strong enough. Unless signal conditions have changed during the day those ten channels must have been received from another transmitter. Check with people around you with aerials pointing in the same direction to see if they have lost reception, if they are ok then as FenderBender says, check your own installation.

    I just replaced an aerial pole for someone receiving from Heathfield up near the M25 services and there was no problem with retuning any channels afterwards (Amplified Hi-gain wide band aerial)

    BBCA Mux is now at it’s fullest power (20kW) but the remainder are on 2kW or less since the increase from 1kW in April until DSO stage 2 on 13th of this month. Note SDN doesn’t go to 20kW until 27th June when it switches to 8k mode.

    You can ignore CH 47 as it’s the HD Mux and the 9150t won’t receive it. strike that it’s HD after 13th June

    To be sure you are receiving from Heathfield put your postcode and house number/name into the digital-UK site (link) and click the ‘I am in the trade’ box. The top of the page gives the compass bearings to the most likely transmitters. You can then check which direction the aerial is pointing. North is 0degrees E is 90 etc.

    Note – if your aerial is vertical you are on a repeater not the main transmitter (TX). That will still say the parent TX’s name on the Humax.

    Hi Mod….thanks for this – it saysthat we are receiving from Midhurst with no retune required.
