    Is it possible on either system to get subtitles; (fast) forward or reverse?

    I have looked but so far see no means to! :(

    Welcome to the Forum :-)

    The BBC are looking into providing sub titles, as for ITV your guess is as good as mine, it has taken them long enough to provide on HD broadcasts.

    The London ITV1-HD version (now 1920 x 1080) now has subtitles. Last time I checked the Granada variant has not.
