Inactivehi.. im thinking of buying a humax 500gb freesat box to replace sky hd.. what i need to know is does the humax have all the same connections as the sky hd box..at the moment my sky box feeds the conservatory and mmain bedroom freeview through the aerial connection…
the sky mutiroom upstairs (kids rooms) will not be affected
hope this makes sense, its just that someone told me the humax box does not have a certain outlet for the aerial
i know it will be ok for the satellite part but i dont want to buy one if it does not have a aerial socket

ParticipantYou need extra kit to emulate the SKY box RF analogue channel output and magic eye remote control
eg
http://www.aerialsuperstore.co.uk/triax-tri-link-rf-modulator-kit-508-p.asp
If you don’t need remote control by magic eyes this will suffice
Other than this the connections are the same.

RF MODULATOR – CONVERT SCART PHONO TO TV AERIAL RF COAX…

No problem
Scart cable from the hdrs vcr scart to the modulator. (Or 3 RCA phonos from the HDR’s RCA phono outputs). Aerial in to the modulator rf in (You will need a splitter to feed both the modulator and the TV). Remove the sky box coax out from RF2 out and connect it to the modulator rf OUT. Connect the modulator power supply and change it’s output channel to the one your Sky box is using (default uhf 68).
That’s it
