InactiveHi,
I’m beginning to explore the upgrade options for my Foxsat HDR. I’d almost given up on the USB interface until I found this site.
I have a Phillips-4Gb drive that is simply ignored by the STB. I bought a SanDisk-2Gb (Cruzer Edge) drive yesterday which IS recognised (progress!), but fails to execute the upgrade when I reboot.
Before I buy anymore duff USB drives, can anyone tell me which drives they have successfully used to upgrade the firmware?
Thanks.

InactiveHello nasher, I flashed my HD Fox T2 with a 4GB TDK Trans-IT stick. There seem to be a few different versions of it though. Looks like the one in the picture I've uploaded.

InactiveI have the same problem as nasher. I tried a couple of sticks but neither worked and I don’t want to buy another without reasonable confidence it will work.

InactiveThanks Barry. Sounds like I was just unlucky. I tried a Danelec 4gb and a Buffalo 64mb (how old!).
I’ll try one of your list.

InactiveThanks everyone for the replies – it’s good to hear that I’m not alone with this problem.
Barry – I have a SanDisk Cruzer (Edge) USB drive, formatted as FAT (or maybe FAT32). Do you use the windows or linux format for your drives ..?

Do you use the default cluster size?

InactiveSuccess ! I think the problem was with the filename on the USB drive.
The STB will recognise the Sandisk Cruzer Edge drive (but not the Phillips grrr). When I got that far I tried the official FOXSAT-HDR_upgrade_10017.hdf upgrade from http://beta.humaxonline.co.uk/downloads/foxsat-hdr (just to be on the safe side).
That didn’t work, so I just tried the FOXSAT-HDR_upgrade.hdf file from Raydon (thanks Raydon) and it booted 1st time!
So I guess it’s the filename that matters.
Thanks everyone for your help

Yes the filename is critical – you skipped looking at the Humax link telling you to rename the file.

InactiveYep – a schoolboy error on my part.
I guess the moral of this story is that if the STB recognises the USB then it’s happy to boot from it – would you agree ?

InactiveNo – The Humax application seems happy with nearly all USB sticks. The loader is much more fussy.
