InactiveIs there a simple online guide to “Configuring the Ethernet”?

InactiveNo – The HDR default settings should correspond with those (default settings) of every router/modem/switch i have come across – DHCP must be enabled but that is standard.
Your router settings are more tricky and best left alone unless you understand what you are doing and have a problem.

InactiveApologies – novice here!
I have connected an Ethernet cable. BBC iPlayer does not work. When I go to Network > Configure Ethernet or Configure IP, the digits are all 0’s.
Hope you can point me in the right direction.

ModeratorHi
Try Menu, System, Network, Configure Ethernet – Select the option DHCP, highlight Apply and press OK, if all is working as it should then the 0’s should change to IP addresses.

InactiveDoh! Thanks REPASSAC. Sometimes you need someone to point out the obvious!
I haven’t got a spare port on the router, so will have to get another one.
Thanks

You could put in a switch which would be cheaper; unplug one of your existing devices from the router and connect it to the switch; run a cable from router to switch; plug Humax into switch. Job done. A suitable switch might be Link to switch on Amazon. This would leave you three spare ports for other equipment.

InactiveWell said, Martin. I was in a similar boat a while ago. I had one wired Ethernet cable from my router upstairs to my downstairs AV equipment. I found that a switch did the job of admirably.
I now share the one router connection between my Blu-ray player, my Topfield PVR and my Humax HDR-Fox T2. It all works seamlessly.
Easy to set up, as your guidance says in your post.
