KeymasterWith great regret MyHumax.Org forums is giving 5 months notice of closure.
We will be shutting down the forums in February 2026 which will bring us to 15 years of existence. It has been a great 15 years, and unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.
We are working on the wind down of these forums, and these are the expected timescales:
* September: (this) wind down announcement
* October: Questions, comment, acceptance
* November: Stop user registrations
* December: Members only forums (login to read and post)
* January: Read only forums (no more posting)
* February: Shutdown and archive
We would like to thank everyone for participating in these forums especially, the donors, moderators and the regular contributors.

ParticipantSad news but I suppose inevitable as the PVR market diminishes and users switch to streaming.

InactiveThere is still a large community of PVR users who would benefit even more from support forums continuing to be available as the market for newer models dwindles. Even the Toppy forum is still going!

InactiveYes sad news as I look at this forum every day and will be hard to break the habit!
Our Humax boxes have brought us a lot of entertainment over the years and long may it continue.
But nothing lasts forever.

InactiveSorry to see the site go. I have used for many years. I understand Humax are no more. They are getting out of pvr anyway. The terrible unreliability of the Humax Aura may have had something to do with it. I have never had so much trouble with a PVR and I have had many models from Pace Twin, Topfield and Humaxes.
My Humax Aura started to not show a picture today for the umpteenth time. I just unplugged it and threw it in the bin. Good riddance. I’ll be buying a Manhattan. And streaming over my Apple TV box.

Inactive@super-admin – What a timely, organised and considerate announcement of the unwelcome news. There are much larger entities who could learn from you.
Thank you for your service!

InactiveHaving used the forum only for situations of desperation – help to get a 1TB hard disk to replace the 300G for exammple – I shudder to think of what I will do for the next problem. Being a naive user, I rely on computer-literate people as found here.
Is the problem a money thing? Or perhaps a time consumer?
Is there any way it can remain as a read-only, no new registration site?

Inactivemaybe it would help if you added to your post what people are supposed to do when they need assistance. given that people come here specifically due to the documented issues with humax customer service.

Which ‘new’ humax are you talking about? Not the ‘Aura’ which has been out for a while now.

See this thread:
Thanks for sending a link rather than explaining the post, can we not assume everyone knows about the Freely Humax box.
That freely Humax box sounds a terrible idea. Why would you record streaming tv? Or is it live streamed rather than broadcast? So the worst of both worlds.
No wonder Manhattan refused to do it. This is an inferior product to a box recording live broadcast.

InactiveRecording live streams has its uses especially if the underlying streaming service does not support chase-play (as ITVX does not for example) or if it is tardy in making content available on catch up (as EETV is for example). Some live sport never makes it to catch up so if you could not watch live and did not record it then you have missed your chance.

I doubt we will be able to ‘record live streams’. The recording ability will probably be from the aerial connection.
The Virgin media box used to be able to save a ‘link’ (bookmark) to the online content in the same folder as actual recordings which was a useful feature. Even though the rest of the Virgin service was overpriced I thought.
