Another way – no need to move the laptop.
Open a youtube video in a Google Chrome window. The cast icon at the top of the screen has both the freesat and FVP box as a destination.
Works in Windows 10. Someone else will have to see if it works on a MAC.
Yes, it works okay on macOS.

Well the the grey box issue on YouTube seems to have been sorted, but now the on screen keyboard disappears when you try to use it. Any ideas ??

Yes, I have only just found this happening. Glad I’m not the only one. I have reset app several times, plus also reset Humax box with no success. John

Yes, Thank you Graham. Yes, as a temporary fix, I can stream via tablet, use my Windows pc in another room to via Youtube, but this still doesn’t solve the Humax/Youtube App problem. Hopefully they will fix this asap, as they did with the App not even working until recently. This has only happned in the past week. I was able to use it last Friday (13/11) John.
Yes, after all appeared to be well and working again, I too have the problem of:-
1. The Back button not working.
2. The keyboard disappearing when attempting search.
Been out of action for some time now. No response to emails from either Humax or YouTube. No explanatory blue screen like last time. Customer service is not very good, is it?
My Humax HDR 1100S connects to YouTube but when I select search and move the cursor, the letters disappear. I can get YouTube through the TV but this is quite long-winded. I have tried unplugging the power lead and also retuning the Freesat channels but no effect on search

I also like Amazon’s Fire TV. A very snappy and responsive box and the Bluetooth remote is the best I know!
Not used the Fire stick or the Cube which replaced the box which is a shame as the box is excellent and some bad reviews on the Cube.
You Tube is there now but the search function is not working properly and when you try to leave a video it doesn’t let you in the normal way and pick another video
I can access the You Tube app on Humax on my TV from my smart phone app remotely to avoid these problems.
