YouTube now working on both my Humax boxes (HDR1000S and FVP4000T).

Thanks to everyone that helped fix this by complaining to Humax, and of course thanks to Humax, they got there eventually.

I received my email today. So pleased to see Youtube back. I tried to install a software update, but there wasn’t one neither was it required which surprised me. (FVP-4000T latest update June 2020)

It appears that updating of apps is independent of updates to the main software of the boxes, it was the same when the iPlayer problem ended.

Having said that, I recall that the My5 problem only ended when the June main update took place.

Yes, all apps update independant of your boxes ROM Firmware/software.

iPlayer, for instance, updates weekly, or there abouts.

    @AANDYY

I didn’t find the YouTube App-Reset before, but I obviously wasn’t scrolling down far enough. Found it now, and things are better, so thanks.

I had to login to Google on the pc in order to be able to cast, but I found that I could still cast after logging out again.

My YouTube has gone again ! Even with the repair last time my keypad on the remote never worked the way it used to. On using the search facility the letters would disappear before you could move the scroller over them. The back button never reacted. It was a mess.

I have no idea if the current “off air” position is due to remedial work or not. But, I’m fed up and off to buy a firestick today to ensure this unreliable situation with the box does not cause anymore annoyance.

Have you checked your box is connected to the internet and has a IP address on your home network ?

Which box, and did it follow the same pattern as originally working -> stopped working -> working -> stopped?

    thanks

It loaded again a few hours ago, but just tried it and it shows the ‘re-directing’ message again.

About ready to give up on this.

With all these reported problems I would just like to add a more positive experience.

My Humax HB-1100S have had the same problems as all have experienced in this forum. Youtube came back Saturday last week and have (knock on wood) been stable since then. As a added bonus is the iPlayer. I had given up on getting it to work more than sporadic is now rocksolid.

My Humax HDR-1100S used to have an icon for YouTube, and it used to work OK, but it has now vanished.

Anyone any idea how to get it back to see if Youtube now works please?

I’ve created a myHumax account, and linked the box OK with the device generated registration No.

Under Manage Device – Detail Info, I get

    Detail Info

    Device name

    HDR-1100S

    Available serviceApp Market – X , TV Guide – X

Under App Market tab, when logged in, Youtube is not listed, other than in the flashing banner, and there seems to be no way to add it.

If I log out and look at available apps, there are two versions of Youtube, with different icons.

One with the words You Tube on the same line horizontally, and the other with You above Tube.

Neither list the HDR-1100s as compatible devices.

    Thanks

    Bill

I don’t know if this will be able to help you: My HB1100S is pretty much the same model as yours just without the internal hard-drive. As stated in the post above Youtube is once again working without problems for me. The icon I have in the app menu is the version with Youtube on the same line. I am (almost) certain that it used to be on two lines before.

    Best of luck

    Erik
