InactiveHi hi Jack all you like, I will try this later, just hope we can get to the bottom of it.

InactiveFeel free to hi-Jack, just love to be able to solve the mystery. Haven’t done a re-set yet, but now when I click on You Tube I get a bank screen, with just a thin white line across the top of the screen. And does nothing.

ModeratorSusan – check Youtube again as it appears to be working now on my 1800 and 2000T.

InactiveHave you actually tried to play a video Barry? You can connect okay and it will return searches, but I bet you won’t get any of them to play. I it a problem Humax are aware of and are planning to fix it with a software update.

ModeratorYou bet wrong, all videos I have tried play, I would not have posted info otherwise.

InactiveThat is really mysterious then, as I haven’t seen any posts to suggest it is working on any other Humax HD recorder. Even Humax acknowledge the problem and are trying to fix it.
Perhaps you should contact them and let them know how you are managing to get round it.

InactiveHi Barry no mines still not working. :0(
Tried re- booting, and factory reset, as suggested in a previous post.
But zilch…..

InactiveAs Hugh says, it connects to You Tube, and comes up with any searches, but that’s it you click on it the circle just goes round and round ( and round and round)

InactiveSusan, just a thought, did you definitely disconnect the box from the mains power supply? If so, do so again and whilst it’s off do the same with the router and once the router is back up plug the Humax back in. If that fails then I’d be trying a network cable to connect the Humax to the router, which you probably won’t have as you’re using a dongle.
It might be useful to know what the similarities are with yours and Hugh’s setup compared with other people’s setups where youtube does work

ModeratorTis a strange one, why it suddenly started working for me on the 1800/2000T is a mystery.
It still does not work on my HDR T2’s, and the HD T2 does not even load portal.
As usual I have been keeping Humax towers fully appraised of my results as well as the experiences of other members….

I am also finding it strange due to what my HDR-FOX T2s (1.02.20) are now doing without any intervention.
The HDR-FOX T2 (1.03.12) that I use for Youtube works and has never stopped working.
My HDR-FOX T2s (1.02.20) can no longer access the portal. They were OK yesterday apart from the Susan Moon Youtube issue. (Next weekend one of them becomes free if anyone wants to persuade me to do some experimenting.)
I’ve packed my HD-FOX (V29) and haven’t the time (for now) to unpack and check but when I last checked after a reset to defaults and the passing of time it was OK.
I’ve packed my HDR-2000T and haven’t the time (for now) to unpack and check but when I last checked after a reset to defaults fixed it, but it then needed another reset to defaults the next day as it reverted back to the Susan Moon issue.
Edit: I am itching to see if my HD-FOX and HDR-2000T can access the portal today, but unfortunately I do not have the time this week.

InactiveWhat makes this so strange is that internet access isn’t the problem, so disconnecting the recorder and the router wouldn’t logically seem to make any difference. If you can stream high-definition content from iPlayer, even a long YouTube videos should be easy.
Just out of interest, I’m using Windows 7 and my connection is via TalkTalk at an average of 16mbps. I’m using the Windows firewall and AVG Free.
Something I’ve just noticed is that under the allowed programs list in Windows Firewall, there is an entry for Wireless Portable Devices which isn’t ticked to allow access. I have no idea what the implications of this are, as my phone connects to my home wi=fi without problems and as already stated, the 2000T can access iPlayer.

InactiveAfter the passing of night when my modem and router are unplugged the situation on one of my two HDR-FOX T2 (1.02.20)s has changed.
Yesterday neither could access the portal anymore, but today one is working and the other remains as it was yesterday I find this difference strange as they are setup almost identically. There are slight differences in how/when they were manually tuned and obviously they have different local ip addresses (configured via DHCP) and there are no other devices on the LAN with the same IP addresses. I’ve never had connection issues before yesterday despite historically probably switching things about more often then I’d expect most households. All the Humaxs can see each other on the LAN.
Please note that I am just reporting this and not asking for help as the Humax I usually use for internet features continues to work fine.

How is your HD T2 today?

InactiveHi mines still not working, I’m connected to BT at a speed of 54mbps…..the box works perfectly apart from the You Tube issues. I’ll try again later at turning off the box at the mains. And the router and reconnecting. Fingers crossed.

InactiveSusan, I don’t think that will necessarily fix it, but it will be interesting if it does make a difference for you.
