    I have 500t

I recently moved house and had to do a channel search. It will not find HD channels. I have the numbers to do a manual search for Winter Hill and also changed transmission to DVB-T2 to no avail.

I have also re set to factory.

    Any help greatly appreciated

What does the Freeview channel checker report https://www.freeview.co.uk/freeview-channel-checker

When you get the initial report click on detailed view to get more details. What do you know about the aerial at your new address? Do other devices eg the TV get HD channels?

    131 channels including 7 HD

Samsung TV does not recieve HD however, the aerial goes from wall direct to humax and then out to TV so I guess TV would not get HD this way.

Aerial is brand new with booster in the loft, installed by professional

Sorry I don’t agree; no reason why the TV shouldn’t receive HD channels when its signal is being passed through the Humax. Do you have power saving in standby set to off on the Humax?

Sorry the attachment isn’t helpful. It is the detailed view that might help diagnose the problem. If you have had the aerial installed by a professional then I would say the first thing to do is to discuss the problem with them.

As Martin says when the FVP-5000T passes the signal to the TV it passes it on its entirety , regardless of the tuning by the FVP-5000T?

Is it an HD TV with an HD tuner?

It looks like you didn’t click on the “detailed view” as Martin suggested.

Here is a direct link to the detailed view.

Are there any non-HD channels missing?

As the signal is strong anyway, do you know why a booster was installed?

It could be that you are suffering from an overload

What are the signal and quality readings for HD frequency number (35)?

As far as I can tell non HD channels are all OK.

Channel 35 is showing strength 0% and quality 0%

OK that is perfectly acceptable. I am struggling to understand the problem. Have you spoken to the aerial installer?

I know you mentioned in your first post about switching Transmission between DVB-T and DVB-T2 when manually tuning SD and HD channels on your 5000T.

Are you remembering to do this for mux. 35 which is your HD channel/ multiplex.

When you had the aerial ‘professionally’ installed did you not check that all channels SD and HD had been tuned in?

When the aerial was installed the coaxial was plugged directly into the TV so yes everything including HD was there.

I then plugged the coax into the in on the humax and then another coax from the out on the humax to the TV.

Therefore, directly I have everything but the humax does not find HD so now both the TV and humax do not have HD.

I don’t know what or how to do mux 35?

The aerial installer was professional but FOC via a friend which is why I don’t really feel I can ring him, besides it all works direct into the TV

Ah we thought you knew because you talked about changing the transmission type.

Go to channel settings; select Manual Channel Search, enter the channel number as 35, set the transmission type to DVB-T2 and make sure Network search is off and see what it comes up with.

Follow Martins instructions for manually tuning to mux/ Channel 35 changing Transmission from DVB-T to DVB-T2.

you should then see the Signal Strength and Quality meters populate.

If you successfully get your HD Channels they will appear in the 100’s in your EPG.
