InactiveIn the On Demand part of the menu:
On the top line (where I would expect to see BBC iPlayer), all the FreeviewPlay Apps are missing being replaced with just blank “FreeviewPlay” place holders.
On the second and third lines (YouTube, etc), everything is present and correct.
I wanted to watch the iPlayer and found that I could do by searching using the A-Z search and getting into the iPlayer by a different route. Once I was in the iPlayer, it worked normally and I was able to view iPlayer streams.
I went back to the On Demand part of the menu and the top line remained empty with just the blank “FreeviewPlay” place holders.
Any suggestions?

InactiveWorking OK here but the first time I tried it today the greyed out boxes took a second or three to populate correctly.

InactiveHappened to me yesterday for the first time. Switched off/on again and all present and correct.

InactiveSince yesterday:
– powered off/on (by remote and also by mains power)
– left powered on for ages
– powered off/on again a few more times
Unfortunately, it is still the same – the entire top line consists of blank “FreeviewPlay” place holders.
P.S. – in case it is relevant, I am on the latest v1.02.13 software installed via USB.

InactiveI have the same problem. Switching off and on doesn’t help. I think it started in the last week. I am on v1.02.13, auto-installed but I don’t know when that happened.

ModeratorClutching at straws, bear with me, but you could try:
Home
Settings
General Settings
Last option listed – Privacy Policy etc
Try unticking the 2 boxes , highlight Done press OK.
Now try On Demand, you should be presented with the Privacy Policy etc again, both options should be ‘ticked, and ‘Done’ highlighted, press OK – see if that makes any difference

InactiveThanks Barry, but no luck.

InactiveI tried all the above – but no success.
I then tried a “Smart-retune” this morning – but still the same – the apps were still missing.
I finally tried a “full-retune” where the box warns me that all my schedules will be deleted as well – and success – it worked!
I now have the top row full of apps such as BBC iPlayer, ITVplayer etc.
Thanks for all your suggestions and help.

InactiveA default automatic retune has also solved the problem for me.
Thanks for your help.

InactiveHi. I just had the same problem. A bit worrying, although still under warranty. Thankfully, for me, switching off at the mains, leaving it for a minute and then switching back on again solved the problem and brought back all the players. So if you have the same problem, it might be worth you trying that first before doing all the more complicated things that others have suggested.

InactiveI have reported the same problem as BBC, ITV, C4 etc players greyed out and not usable where I posted a workaround.
I have not been able to fix it, although I have not yet tried the “full retune” or “reset to default settings” as it will delete my schedule.

InactiveI have had the channel logos in the Guide, Recording list, Schedule etc for the longest time this week – 4 days without the need to pull the plug to get them back.
After reading this post about deleting cookies, I thought ‘I wonder…’ and low and behold yesterday my logos disappeared, so I went and deleted the cookies and as if by magic they appeared!!!. Much easier than having to pull the plug!
This is an obvious bug and really does need fixing as without the logos it looks dreadful, but with them it looks great.

InactiveI have had the following response from Humax – as expected it is to do a reset.
Thank you for contacting Humax.
Please follow these instructions to perform factory default on a Freeview Play unit. Performing a factory default can help with picture/sound, signal and recording issues.
Please NOTE: System settings such as screen ratio will be reset and your schedule will be deleted but recorded programmes will be saved.
– Press Home/Freeview Play button on the remote
– Using the directional buttons move up (top right hand corner) and select Settings
– Select System Settings then Factory Default
– Choose Reset All Settings with the OK button
– Select ‘YES’
– Enter Password 0000
The unit will restart, please allow up to 2 minutes for this to happen
– Please select ‘Start now’ & choose your preferred language
– Select Next and allow the automatic search to reach 100%
– When the option SAVE becomes available, press OK
– Please choose your Internet Connection Method
– Select Next on confirmation Screen
– Select “I agree to the privacy policy” and press OK
– Select “I agree to the terms and conditions” and press OK
– Choose Next
– Next, select your “Power Saving In Standby” preference and press OK
– Then choose Exit
– Software check will take place
– Once finished scroll through the onscreen guide and press OK on the last screen
This completes the setup

You are cheering me up no end! You seem to be able to use the greyed out icons – I cannot select them

Another idea might be to re-install the software. I see I can download the latest release from https://uk.humaxdigital.com/support/?product_id=70&curr_page=sw_release
