If the message onscreen is “no signal” its the TV saying that and not the Humax.

    The 4000t message is this:-

So double check your hdmi cables and check the TV settings to make sure you have not turned off access to the hdmi ports (somehow?).

    Well this seems strange.

I tried a new hdmi lead. Still no signal. Then I did a TV anynet configuration. It found the 4000T box and my blueray player, but still getting no signal message for 4000T box yet the blueray player works fine. So I’m assuming because the TV is finding the 4000T box on the Anynet search, the tv is configured to the box?

You haven’t confirmed which message you are actually seeing. Is it “no signal” which is TV generated or is it the message as per my photo?

Sorry. Its the TV no signal message.

If you have one, connect an rca lead to the humax>tv (yellow sockets). It doesn’t matter if the cable is only red or white. Then you should get a picture (low resolution) onto the TV and you can check if the hdmi outputs have been altered. Your TV should support all resolutions but these boxes get themselves in a muddle sometimes. Ultimately, you may need to do a reset but don’t select the option to format the hdd.

I’ve got the box up and running using the composite cables.

If I plug the hdmi back in I can’t get any picture on hdmi cable or composite.

I also have an on-screen message that seems strange (please see attachment) . With no hdmi plugged in and running off composite can’t figure out why I’d get this messages on-screen.

Would a factory reset to try to solve it also format the HDD?

That message is nothing to worry about.

A factory reset will not delete your recordings unless you specifically select the option to format the hdd.

    Thank you for that.

Do you think because I can get the box working via composite cables and not hdmi that it is a TV problem?

I can’t understand why though, when I do an Anynet scan it picks up my 4000T box.

Anynet is just recognising that something is plugged in however it may be the case that the video output via hdmi has failed.

Easiest thing to do is the reset and see what happens.

I’ve tried the box on another TV using hdmi and have the same problem, so I’m guessing it must be the hdmi port.

Does anyone know if these can be repaired/replaced

    Many thanks

Unusual problem but I think you have demonstrated that must be the case.

    Have you tried resetting yet?

Just because you can get a picture via rca doesn’t necessarily mean that the the hdmi port is faulty. It may well be but it’s also possible that the operating system has glitched or the resolution is set to something your TV isn’t recognising. A reset is often the best cure.

Also, have a look at the TV hdmi settings for enhanced (or something along those lines) and try toggling between on and off.

Done a reset on the 4000T box and on my TV. No change other than working OK via composite cables.

Can’t see any TV hdmi enhanced settings. The aspect radio is set to 16:9.

Sorry, I hadn’t realised that the TV was from 2008 (so it won’t have enhanced hdmi).

So go into the Humax settings and make sure that it isn’t set to anything above 720p.

I suggest this because I am guessing that the other TV you have tried the box on may be similar age/specification?
