InactiveI was a beta tester back in 2020/21 when the Aura was first launched but I have not been contacted regarding any new release yet.
I’ve also noticed the Humax Aura support site now states:
The product will receive software update support, including security updates, for 7 years from the date of initial supply as of November 1, 2020.
For Aura products, software updates will be supported until November 1, 2027.
Details regarding the extension of the update period or the termination of updates will be announced 6 months before the expiration of the software update support period.
Given Freeview is supposed to last until at least 2034 hopefully Humax will get a move on and fix what needs fixing.

InactiveQuote:I was a beta tester back in 2020/21 when the Aura was first launched but I have not been contacted regarding any new release yet.So was I, but I wouldn’t expect any direct contact from Humax for testing the promised forthcoming release. They won’t know who’s changed their email, died, or gone away. If they want to beta test this with users they’ll ask for volunteers afresh.

I’m just trying not to get my hopes up too much.

InactiveJust adding a comment for the sake of it as there’s been no updates on any threads for a week.

InactiveIf August comes and goes without an update, are we being led up the garden path? Just asking for a friend…

Finally there has been some news about the system update that was supposed to be rolled out in January. The test software build is hoped for next month with some members being offered testing
first before rollout. Fingers crossed that there will be no more delays & more importantly that this latest update will address each of the known faults & also not cause new issues as most of the previous updates have.
Could you please supply any details regarding the source of this news ?.
Ive read numerous comments from group members on various posts saying they’re in contact with “senior Humax employees” and even the CEO !! at one point, but for over two years now nothing has materialised .
Maybe then, you can understand, I’m taking this with a pinch of salt .

I second this. It’s a firmware update to a pvr not the next mission to the moon…

InactiveHumax have a very known history of extensive & repeated delays that you’d think it was, to quote you, a mission to the moon!
I am in hospital again ATM, & don’t like hassling any of the senior management but when I can I will ask yet again for those of you who keep asking. Please bear with. No need for further comments in the meantime.
All the best to everyone who are still putting up with all of the faults/issues until then

InactivePlease also do remember the purported update humax have been touting for over a year now is to the Android OS, so could not address issues a number of the issues users experience.

Inactivei will never, ever, ever, ever buy another humax product and will inform others of their pitiful after sales care. bug ridden products and lie after lie about updates. they used to be a fantastic company, now, one of the worst. they clearly couldn’t care less about the people who buy their products.

InactiveUnfortunately, & sadly not surprisingly, it’s not good news regarding the supposed update (which as already noted couldn’t possibly fix some of the issues users are facing). This was forwardeded from a senior at Humax. So they’re not even attempting to give a new timeframe now. >
As for the Aura OS update, our development team has unfortunately experienced some delays. We are now reviewing the current status with them and will provide you with a clearer update as soon as possible.

InactiveYet more vapourware from Humax.

Appreciate the info. I just don’t know why Humax bother with continually dangling this carrot in front of us? Why are they (pretending to?) spend resources on an upgrade for a 5 year old machine? I don’t see what’s in it for them to fix long standing issues.

InactiveIf the new Manhattan unit was able to record more than 2 channels at a time I think i would have moved to that.
It’s a shame they didn’t use dual tuner’s, if they had fine they’re market research they probably would have sold a lot more units if they had that.

I agree. I would have bought the Manhattan too, but the limitation of only being able to record 2 channels is a showstopper for me. I often have to record 3 channels and on some occasions I have even recorded 4.
