InactiveAfter a week and an hour on a chat line with Humax followed by a call to my broadband provider I still have no ‘On Demand’. All other devices are fine with my router.
Does anyone have any ideas, please?
Regards,
Tony.

Which Humax unit are you referring to.

ModeratorA few have reported similar with freesat units.
A Factory default (settings, system settings) appears to fix the problem. Make a note of your schedule as you will have to re enter it.

InactiveI have done a factory reset twice, first a few days ago and again during the chat with Humax support.

InactiveTry rebooting your router and after the reboot is complete also reboot the HDR-1000S.
What network settings does the unit now show?

InactiveGot this from Humax support. Did not make any difference, still not working…..
• Turn the Humax Box off with the remote or the button on the front of the box
• Turn the Humax Box off at the mains
• Power down and then turn the Broadband Hub/Router off at the mains
• Leave the Broadband Hub/Router off for 5 minutes
• Turn the Broadband Hub/Router back on at the mains
• Wait another 5 minutes and turn the Humax Box on at the mains. Then with the remote or the button on the front of the box power it on.

InactiveWhat does the HDR-1000S show in network settings? Please post settings/
How is it connected to our router? If Cable is the green LED by the LAN socket on?
If via home plugs do they have a power save feature and if so can it be disabled.

InactiveI can’t see an LED where the ethernet/cat5 is plugged in. No idea what home plugs are.

InactiveIt is OK to post that data as they will be non routable addresses.
However it appears that the HDR-1000S has been unable to get a lease from your router. with the last three set as they are any internet connection is impossible.
There are two ways of solving this –
1. Using a static IP address on the Humax after making a address reservation on your router (If it supports it, most do)
2. Solve why DHCP is not working.
can you answer the other questions first:
How is it connected to our router? If Cable is the green LED by the LAN socket on?
If via home plugs do they have a power save feature and if so can it be disabled.

InactiveI am fairly sure that when I had one of these it had a LED (Graham T can you check yours please).
Did you try a replacement cable / cable swap?

InactiveFor some reason I thought you had a HDR-1000S but see now it is a HDR-1100S which I don’t think has the LED. try a cable and port swap on the router.

Yes Green LED but not sure about 1100S.
OP how far away is your router can you run a temporary network cable. If you advise length I will post a source. A long cable is very handy to sort out connection issues. I sometimes run a long one out of lounge patio doors up to study window above where router is located. If that works OK a pair of homeplugs may be able to replace cable.
Can you check if one fuse or circuit breaker in your distribution board turns off both the box and your router ? If so a pair of units should work OK. My 1000-S connects by a pair of these devices.
