… so hardly a major issue…
Sorry, but this and Barry’s…”but then again I use the common sense approach and press stop after viewing a recording.”… is all too typical of the dismissive approach that you get from some contributors when you report problems on this box. The BACK key worked before in this context, now it frequently does not. That shows a lack of thorough testing on the part of Humax/Freesat, which on a quality product is inexcusable.
On this box I am repeatedly having to say to family members…”Don’t use this key for this purpose, I know it doesn’t make sense, it should work, but it doesn’t”.

With you 100% Pollensa. Intermittent bugs cannot always be replicated when they appear under slightly different cicumstances, that doesn’t mean that the person reporting them isn’t competent in operating what is meant to be a consumer product designed with simplicity of use incorperated into the system. I use the common sense approach and press stop after viewing a recording. With me this problem also occured using the back key to exit the settings menus.Last night I also had problems along with others reporting on other forums using the “Freetime” function of going back in time in the EPG. The listings in “previous” had disappeared from being there 10 minutes before.

InactiveYes, my missus never uses the stop button, mainly because I use a Philips Pronto remote control and I’ve designed the remote control screens so that BACK and EXIT are more accessible than STOP/PLAY.
That’s more my issue as I developed the remote control screens but it shouldn’t detract from the fact that it is a legitimate way to control the device (using BACK or EXIT) that is not working 100% of the time.

InactiveAs a further test of the black screen problem… I have a 2nd TV hooked up to the 1000S via the SCART output to a RF Modulator then by co-ax to the 2nd room. The problem occurs on the 2nd TV also, meaning that the SCART of the 1000S output is equally affected as the HDMI.

I think it’s worth adding that the attitude I describe, and that of the staff on the official Freesat forum, is actually costing Humax sales. I would like to replace 3 old SKY boxes with new 1000S boxes, but no way is that happening in the near future because of the continual instability of the box. I’ve also had many visitors comment critically on the GUI and been unable to commend it. So carry on as you will.

Thats interesting, because I have just mentioned in another thread that I also have lost all listings when using the “previous” feature of the EP Guide. Also for what it is worth, I got the black screen when using the back button last night when exiting “settings” but that was because my box decided it wanted to reboot itself 🙄

InactiveQuote:“but then again I use the common sense approach and press stop after viewing a recording.”Regarding common sense, did it really need the back button to stop playback in the first place, surely exit and stop would of been enough for most people.

InactiveI’m having similar problems with resolution changing in the menu’s as shown in the picture. This didn’t happen before and is a bit irritating
it’s flipping in height not width, you can see the top and bottom chopped off. It’s a bit like when you’re watching a film and then the ads come on causing a resolution change if you know what I mean.Any ideas? And before you all start, I’m not the one recording CBB although I do have to endure it
