Spoke too soon, mine just went into sby at 14:47. Required a manual power on. Freesat tinkering again ?
I noted a couple of days ago that I had a failed recording – almost unheard of. I checked and there were no clashes, in fact it was the only thing due to record. I’m assuming the box rebooted and messed up the recording.

Quote:Freesat smart set-top boxes rebooting
6 October 2016
As a result of some changes we are making to the way Freesat delivers connected services, a small number of Humax Freesat smart set-top boxes may experience occassional reboots.
This should only occur occassionally and for a short period of time, we expect things to get back to normal in the next 24 hours. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused during these essential changes.
If your box starts rebooting frequently, please let us know by calling 0345 313 0051, or emailing Customerteam@freesat.co.uk
You can also get in touch via Twitter, or Facebook
Many thanks
The Freesat team.

InactiveMy HB1000S rebooted yesterday evening at 8-40 whilst watching 129. Fair enough it happened whilst the adverts were on but it is getting a bit of a pain. If Freesat, as it is implied, are doing this they need to get their house in order. Maybe a little point but my wife not being savvy to the ins and outs of turning on the box etc. is ready to throw this box into the bin. I never had this with the Foxsat HD box only a momentarily loss of picture perhaps weekly. How long will this performance be taking place. Perhaps Freesat would enlighten us.

InactiveI was watching ITV2 at 8:40pm on my 1000S last night and no reboot, and no other reboots that I’m aware of. Although the box is only on for a few hours morning and evening so could have passed unnoticed. Mystery is, what on earth are Freesat doing that causes some boxes to reboot and not others.

InactiveI complained to Freesat by email just now asking why this is happening and why the HDR1000/1010 seem to be the only models affected. They quickly replied, but only with this standard script of a reply:
“We are currently under going some essential infrastructure changes resulting in some units rebooting. We can confirm that this is a temporary inconvenience and will be resolved shortly.”

InactiveMy HDR1100s has been rebooting about three times a day for several days. I’m also getting problems when using on-demand service and it took about five retries to watch a film on Curzon this week!
Freesat’s advice (http://www.freesat.co.uk/help/got-freesat/fix-a-problem/system-update-6oct) is:
“If you are experiencing any issues connecting to On Demand services via a Humax Freesat HDR1000s/HDR1010s/HDR1100s or HB1000s please perform a software update”
but there is NO new software, I have 3.00.44 from 21 Jul 2016!
Yesterday they tweeted (https://twitter.com/freesat_tv) that they were working on “some essential changes to the way we deliver connected services to our smart Freesat set-top boxes” but, as far as I can see this morning, there are no updates!

The changes will be at their end. It’s not the box software that’s the issue.

InactiveI would guess all this has something to do with BBC iPlayer now requiring confirmation that we have a TV License. Its all very well them Tweeting about things, but not all of us are on Twitter. I have just replied to their email asking if they could at least issue an email to their registered users to warn of like disruption such as this. If they can Tweet they can email just as easily!
