InactiveProblems with update version uksfaa 2.00.13 updated 22.01.2014. Since update to my Humax hdr1000s, now have no catchup, showcase nor anyother player than BBC & ITV, no BBC sports either. Blank black screen after watching recording, have to change channel to resume normal viewing. Did factory reset after contacting Freesat- still same issues. My wifi connection to humax box is ‘Great’ and works, can access BBC & ITV player ONLY by tv guide>list>on demand. Somehow the catchup arrow has greyed out, going via home button>ondemand and also showcase via hme button both give grey exclamation top banner message ‘***is not currently available’. This has only happened very recently. Do not want do format HD as will lose recordings & even then probably useless action, as with the factory reset. Has anyone else had similar problems since updates or know if something is wrong with settings? Thanks.

Already replied to this on Digital Spy earlier, http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?p=71302915#post71302915
Try installing this update/reset file via USB stick and it should resolve your missing Showcase, catchup and ondemand section.
Click on HDR1000s at the bottom.

With the blank screen after watching a recording you may find that pressing the exit button should also bring back live tv broadcast.

Will someone please state whether a fix is being worked on to restore pause or rewind live tv. It was a major feature of why I purchased the machine in the first place.
As promised in previous post re live pause.
Humax Towers are looking into the issue, but no promises of a quick fix, if a fix can be engineered.
If you can live with problem hold fire on formatting for time being.
Hi,
I too have been in touch with Humax support over the past few days about the RW & Pause problem. I couldn’t even get them to admit there is a problem that they can deal with.
Bob
Yep me too. Rang them. They advised they didn’t think it was a problem
Quick note to say I have the pause/rewind issue too… I’ll hold on for a while before deleting everything through formatting, as Barry suggests.

Most popular leisure activity in the UK is gardening, so perhaps there should be a gardening app instead of mind numbing sport app – just a thought. 🙄

InactiveI also don’t like the new pause and forward/rewind bar and onscreen shadow. It makes the paused picture difficult to see and also causes horizontal banding on my TV. Although you can press the back button to get rid of it, if you press it the slightest bit too hard then the menu comes up and you have to select the TV guide and then press the exit button to get back to the paused screen.
Also I watch foreign TV programs and films with subtitles. The bar continually gets in the way of the subtitles. I don’t understand why they always insist on putting these bars at the bottom of the screen on these boxes. Why not at the top of the screen where there are no subtitles?

InactiveI too have lost live pause and the buffer since the update. All else is fine.
Is there a way to get it back without loosing all my recordings?

thanks, but how do I know if it’s caused by disc corruption?
By not being able to pause or rewind live tv

I don’t know if this would work at all, but you could try pressing record while watching live tv, let it record for a few mins and then delete it.
This didn’t work for me.

InactiveI am a new user with 5 electronic thumbs on each hand. I have a Foxsat HD in my holiday house that worked perfectly on Jan 4th. The STB was disconnected until yesterday. Now all of the BBC and ITV channels give “No signal” while the signal on all other channels is about 80% strength. “Diagnostics” reads Software version 1.00.28, Loader U 7.22, System ID 35F1.0000 Update date 08 Dec 2010 and at the foot of the page 2050: 10847 V 23000 2/3. I have tried freesat tune and manual tune with no success. Can anyone please help?

ParticipantHi welcome to the forum. Most likely reason is bad weather has moved the dish a little. Quality is the important number, as near 100% as possible is best.
Check your coax cable for signs of water ingress as this could also be causing the problem. If there is water in the cable disconnect it from your box and get it replaced. Water can enter the box and ruin it.
Using manual tune select 11427 H (might say 11428 H), this is the freesat home transponder. without a reasonable quality reading from here you won’t get past the postcode verification on a freesat tune.

InactiveThanks, Graham for your quick reaction. I will check the cable and probably replace it. But I do not fully understand your reply. I understand that 11427 is on 28.5E (the “past”) and 11428 is on 28.2E (the “future”). Correct? Which transponder does my STB look for? 11428 does not appear on my current transponder list. Should I add it manually?

It’s the same transponder. Due to rounding some Foxsats say 11427 H and others 11428 H. Don’t confuse with the Vertical transponder with a similar frequency. It’s the Freesat home transponder on Eutelsat28A at 28.5E. Although it’s expected to eventually move to a SES Astra satellite at 28.2E, it’s not yet happened nor is any time scale known.

InactiveTotally mystified! I replaced the cable and checked the alignment. Result on 11427 was strength 90% and quality 70%. I then did factory reset, including re-entering post code. The system obviously validated the code because it then told me in which region I am. But I still don’t have any BBC or ITV programmes. Are there different decoders in the STB for different groups of programmes? Maybe a decoder has failed?

ParticipantHow strange. First thing to ask is where are you ?. If not in the UK it’s most likely you have fallen foul of the new UK spot beam transponders on Astra 2e and 2F. These are much harder to get especially in Iberia. Have you got Channel 4 HD on lcn 126 ?

Graham’s absolutely right. If you are in southern Spain, or the Canaries then chances are you might need a dish between 2 and 3 metres to get BBC & ITV now.
