InactiveDon’t all Ethernet connections go direct to the router?
Why would you want to connect it to your PC? So if you connect the HB1000s to the PC how does the PC then connect to the router?

What exactly do you want to be able to do?

InactiveIf you plugged your PVR straight into your PC, you would have to use a reversed RJ45 lead. See;

and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_interface_controller
A PC and the Humax PVR are both Network interface controllers.

Do you really want to have your PC on everytime you want to watch any of the <freetime> catch up services ? If your PC has lan cable back to the router you can share it with multiple kit using a cheap high speed network switch.
My laptop, Foxsat-hdr, HD1000S, HD FOX T2, HDR FOX T2, Blu-ray player and AV amp all use one cable back to the router. I have a spare outlet that can be used with anything ese (Grandsons XBOX One for instance)

OK then assuming you are running Windows then you can enable Internet Connection Sharing and connect the Humax to the network port on the PC.

Inactivei enabled internet sharing as you said plugged in the ethernet and no connection kept showing on humax.

InactiveHave you thought about using a WLAN-Dongle instead which you plug into the USB of the Humax?

The one shipped with PVR or router is straight-trough cable, not reversed.
