ParticipantIf you are in Denmark, are these pay-TV channels?
If so you would need a CAM and viewing card or similar authentication system.

ParticipantGood news and thank you for the update.

I agree, external power supplies are acceptable for battery powered equipment like cordless phones and laptops but to have them supplying fixed equipment like a PVR is tacky.
On the other hand provided the input voltage is 12V it makes this a possible Caravan/Campervan PVR as with some 12V satellite receivers.
However I have to agree regarding power bricks that plug directly into a mains socket obstructing other sockets. Very frustrating to have a 4 Gang extension into which only 3 or at worst 2 items can be plugged.

ParticipantWhere it says external power supply does that mean a laptop style power brick with low voltage input to the PVR?

ParticipantHi and welcome to the forum

If the problem appears to be due to RFI then I would replace all cables with better screened versions.
Otherwise, are you using an IR extender that maybe picking up stray IR from for example flourescent or low energy lights?
Edit: see also this thread (link)
Mod Note: Moved to correct forum

ParticipantHi Phil and welcome

I’m glad you are impressed with the responses given to other members here. It’s always nice to get positive feedback.
Remember there’s a lot of information in the FAQ sections but if you don’t find what you need there or by searching then I’m sure someone will be able to address any queries you may have.

ParticipantThanks for that Martin.
To clarify were those instructions executed on the HDR via remote terminal?
aldaweb
ParticipantYou would be better contacting BT about that but you may have to take their box, unless you have a phone with HDMI out and use the App,

The HDR 2000T is in development though it is not due to launch just yet.
A guess then: 2000 = 2TB? 😉

ParticipantHi and welcome to the forum

This was one of the many things that were lost with the demise of the old forums (still leaves a sour taste ).
If you get no joy from members here then check out the wiki pages
Editing_and_Creating_DVD_Videoand the previous wiki at http://http://h2d.wikispaces.com/Using+HDTVtoMPEG2%2C+ProjectX%2C+DVDAuthorGUI+and+ImgBurn.
I haven’t used it as I use VideoRedo TV Suite for Editing and DVD authoring, it’s commercial software but there is a trial.

ParticipantHave you removed the protective film from the front of the box? that can dim the display slightly.

ParticipantIIRC there were different batches of fans and the very early models had quiet ones whilst later ones seemed to be more noisy and led to some people either changing them or fitting a speed controller to reduce noise.
My own model bought in late 2005 has the quiet fan that stays on in standby.

ParticipantRemote scheduling is only available with the custom firmware at the moment via an add-on package. It does require that the HDR reboot before it picks up the new programme(s) though.
