I believe the 9500T was the Finnish version of the 9200T. Some of the early improvements were available on that version before the UK version and I remember running the firmware from that machine modified for the UK machine prior to the rollout of those features here.

It appears some “grade A” 9200Ts were sold in a 9500T shell from humax direct.

    Link to AV forums thread.

The filesystem on the 9300 is proprietary and the HDR will not be able to view the files directly but you can use an external hard drive case to attach to the PC and use humaxrw to extract the files. Once off you could reformat the drive and copy the files back from the PC.

    humaxrw is available here http://myhumax.org/blog/?file_id=8

A friend has a TIVO box which of course has 3 tuners, as far as I can tell it isn’t as flexible as it might suggest. I may be wrong but the third tuner appears only to allow third viewing while recording two, which the twin tuner Humax boxes also offer in a more limited way.

I have my doubts, my guess is the box will work like the TIVO.

Actually the Tivo box can record from all three tuners whilst playing back a recording, and it is also buffering all three tuners whilst not necording on them so you can switch to one of the other tuners and rewind whether watching another live programme or after playing back a recording – I doubt we’ll see anything as advanced as that on one of these Humax boxes though 😉

Yes three on board tuners does sound promising though I doubt there will be similar functionality to the VM Tivo boxes which buffer all 3 tuners.

Any Mux with the L- prefix is the MUX for local TV, so L-LON is the London local MUX hosting ESTV’s London Live channel on LCN 8

Is the drive spinning up when you attempt to read it and do you hear the clicking of the head motor?

If not one or both then it may be that the drive has failed altogether. As it’s seen in device manager you could try doing a format under windows, a full format will check for and mark bad sectors and then when you put it back in the Humax it will format to it’s own file system after prompting.

If the PC is unable to format then you could replace the drive.

You could just change the remote code for the TV button to a different make of TV.

However if they then press the TV button they may still get confused as nothing would be happening on the PVR until they press the PVR button.

Try running QuickStream Fix from the tools menu in VRD before editing.

I use notepad2 to view epg files.

    http://notepad2.sourceforge.net/

You have to scroll through some jibberish to see all the data, but the the synopsis is there.

just to add to Damian’s post if you are running humaxrw from an external drive you would first have to change to that drive before running it. If the drive letter in explorer is F then at your comand prompt you would type ‘f:’ without the quotes and the prompt should change to

    F:>

You can then follow the description above to run the program.

You could run Seatools on the disc in a PC(http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/downloads/item/seatools-win-master/ to check it’s health.

It could be that the fault is with the controller or the PSU.

Even if it fails you can still sell the 9200 for ‘Spares or repair’, it may help someone else out, rather than adding to landfill.

Really? The only problem that I am aware of is that boxes with the new tuner arrangement will not tune anything with version 1.02.32 and earlier. Boxes with the old tuner arrangement can use any firmware version as far as I know

I should have read the OP more carefully, he has the older gen box. Thanks for picking me up on that Martin.

As stated in replies to your other thread there has been an OTA for 1.03.12 for these boxes. It is not advisable to try to downgrade to a 1.02.xx firmware from 1.03.xx as people have elsewhere reported having problems downgrading.

Check the DTG Site for an update on repeat OTA transmission
