I notice black masking tape around each cable head has been used around the connecting points into the LNB presumably from the owner or the installer which appears flimsy.

That would (or should) be self amalgamating tape which is stretched around LNB connectors (also used in aerial installations) and is to weather proof the connection.

Barry, thank you for the time and effort you have put in here and the previous forum. Your contact with Humax has been invaluable in submitting ideas back to them and in turn facilitating testing of new pre-release software by the menmbers here.

All the best for your future endeavours, whatever they may be.

The hub could control your Sonos too:

It’s all a matter of personal preference. You don’t mind multiple remotes, others prefer an all-in-one. I’m in the latter camp. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Are all the buttons on the Harmony remotes configurable for a long press or is it restricted.

So far I’m finding it much less configurable than the Xsights, and I’m dissappointed it doesn’t work with my Hive setup, though it does control the Fire TV.

I’ve also recently got one but haven’t got round to setting it up yet, but looking at the Harmony help site you may need to customise one of the buttons.

    https://support.myharmony.com/en-gb/customizing-physical-buttons-on-your-remote

I’m swapping from an OFA X-Sight programmed via remote master software so don’t know if I’ll get on with the Harmony yet ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you are just topping and tailing then you may want to take a look at mp3directcut (http://mpesch3.de1.cc/mp3dc.html) which can edit mp3 without having to decode & recode, it can also handle mp2 & aac with dll plugins.

If you are copying to an external drive for use under Windows then Windows filename restrictions would apply, otherwise as the filesystem is linux based avoid /

For general rules read this from stackoverflow.com

As Martin suggests for a definitive answer ask at hummy.tv

Stephenesque. You assumed correctly, the box is (on my example Channel 4 Catch-up) very slow responding to the remote.

For TV Catch-up we have been using the TV Fire Stick due to it’s very fast/slick remote…best buy past winter for ยฃ35.

Our old Diditech TV Recorder also responds fast…SO PLEASE HUMAX look into this slow Box response from the supplied remote.

Bear in mind that you are not comparing like with like. The Fire TV/Stick remotes are Bluetooth based whereas the Humax remotes are all IR.

Enter each mux in turn selecting DVB or DVB-T2 as follows and search in turn

    23 26 25 22 28 – DVB-T

    30 55 56 – DVB-T2

When you enter the parameters the mux signal strength and quality will be displayed.

When all are entered save the results on exit.

There’s also the Local channel on UHF 35 (moved from 29 when Com 7 & 8 moved) which carries London Live, which shows some of the Ealing comedies amongst other things. It’s lower power so depending on how far you are from CP you may not get a good enough signal but worth a try :-)

    From the spec

    Product code SV 1760

    Blu-ray / DVD โœ“

    Digital TV โœ“

    Game console โœ“

    Projector โœ“

    STB (Cable / Terrestrial) โœ“

    Full HD video support Yes

    IR extending function support No

    Interference free technology Yes

    Latency < 0.5s

You might need a seperate IR device.

Sorry been out of touch for the weekend.

    FAQ on OFA site says

    Quote:

I cannot control the HDMI source, using a remote control, what do I do?

Make sure to use the remote control of the video source.

Alternatively make sure that the IR emitter (see manual for especification) is connected in the back of the transmitter and that the probe is situated in front of the source device. Make sure that the IR receiver is connected in the back of the receiver. The distance between this IR receiver and your remote control should be between 30cm and 5m.

Also make sure to aim the remote control directly at the IR receiver unit and ensure that there are no obstacles in between. Also ensure that there is no other wireless device (wireless headphones, speakers) interfering with the remote control.

The IR extender function works with all remotes which operate with 30-60kHz frequency, please check your original remote to see if it is compatibile.

So provided everything is connected correctly, and given that the picture is fine it should work.

If you can’t get it to work then a wired option may be better if not ideal.

I have used Command Line and PowerShell. All I get as a result is Humax disk not found.I am entering the correct commands. The gui interface returns with path not found.

In Linux I used the terminal

    Thanks for the reply

You don’t say whether you are running as administrator with the GUI or running from an administrator command prompt for the command line. (type cmd in the search box and right click the cmd.exe from the list and select ‘run as administrator’).

Also Martin asked what command(s) you were typing in. Could you let us know that please.

    How is the drive connected?

I don’t have that model so not sure where the sensor is but our grahamlthompson has posted this method on a different forum for determining where it is.

    https://www.avforums.com/threads/cant-find-ir-sensor-on-humax-hdr-2000t.2025068/#post-23530487

Also check the blaster is actually emitting by viewing it with a digital camera (a phone will do).

Have you placed the IR blaster near to the sensor on the humax?

I can’t access my remote files where I am at present but it’s a standard NEC 5a protocol IIRC so should not be a problem. The slave IR receiver needs to be in line of sight to the remote and the blaster needs to be in front of thesensor on the HDR.

Have you tried using the front end GUI?

    https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/humaxrw-gui-front-end-1

If you’re happy with the command line be aware that you have to run humaxrw from an administrator command prompt.

For the GUI just right click and ‘run as administrator’
