ParticipantWelcome to the Forum

If you mean update the firmware then you need to check when the OTA update is being broadcast at the DTG site (link) and leave the box in standby overnight and set to automatically check for updates.
Alternatively you can manually search during the period of broadcast – see Humax Site (link)
You can also download the update and use the serial port connected to a PC with a null-modem lead. See Humax download site
If you mean something else then please provide more information.

From the frequency range indicates Terrestrial and from the Audio/Video Decoding section indicates Digital.
Also on Humax Aus site showing spec for 7500t
Quote:Tuner Type DVB-T, 2 TunerYou may also want to consider a HDD/DVD recorder with both analogue and digital tuners if looking for an alternative.
Good luck

The four dashes on the left when the unit goes into standby are displayed whilst the EPG is being saved to the hard drive. Once the EPG is cached then the Time should be shown on the right.
Four dashes on the right in standby means you DO need to clean the clock board or leave the unit on. The colon is not always present.

ParticipantHi and welcome to the forum

Does Papua New Guinea have a Digital Terrestrial TV system? I couldn’t find a reference to one. The Aussie TVs that work in PNG are probably using an analogue signal as the systems are the same (Pal B/G). Your HDR does not have an analogue tuner.
You may have been better off with a Digital Satellite PVR instead of terrestrial.
This is predominately a UK forum though we do have some members from other countries. Perhaps someone from Australia will see this and reply though you may be better off posting in an Aussie based DTV forum.

ParticipantI seem to remember that someone had success with 2 1TB partitions as Graham suggested on a UK box. Try that and let us know if it works.

I am using a SCSI to USB convertor with power.
Thanks
I assume you mean an IDE to USB unless you also have SCSI to IDE in the mix.
Martin has told you the program you need to access the filesystem which is also available on the 9200t downloads page in the blog on this site (link)

Hi,
I have a T2 on my network, and a Mac computer, how can I see the contents of the usb drive attached to the T2 over the network ? Can I play the files from the T2 directly from the drive attached to the T2 on my Mac (or Apple TV2) ?
[Oops just realised this is the HDR forum not the HD forum. Does this work for the HD ?]
AIUI this is not possible with a HD and USB drive.

ParticipantThe thing about passive splitters is that the signal level is split as well. Pass through normally amplifies the signal slightly so that the levels in and out are equalised.
You could try connecting the aerial to the 9200 first then loop to the HDR.
Of course the quality of the cables can have an effect on signal quality, in particular the screening. Old braid screened coax should be replaced with braid and foil screened cable.

ParticipantSorry for the delay in replying. Not been on the forum for a few days.
Having channels in the 800+ range normally indicates you have channels from more than one transmitter tuned. That may mean you are picking up signals from a repeater as well.
Can you clarify the following

Hi Mod,
We live in a village and share one main transmitter so don’t know which way it is pointing.
Is this some kind of distribution system or a communal aerial?
Have you tried manually tuning the channels in my previous post? You would need to delete all channels first then try each in turn, deleting again if the signal is bad.
is your neighbour on the same aerial system or a roof aerial?
aldaweb
ParticipantSorry, but are you saying you are on a communal aerial?
Do you still get Analogue channels?, if not what date did you stop getting them? If you do what channel number is BBC1 on?
try manually tuning these in turn:
BBCA Mux channels
Heathfield 52 (nearest @ 26km) 20kW
Midhurst 55 (40km) 20kW
Crystal Palace 23 (52km) 200kW unlikely as London region
Rowridge (incl VP) 24 (92km) 200kW
Haywards Heath 45 Edit: this is only 3 miles or so from you but low power (7W) and Freeview lite
aldaweb
ParticipantMidhurst switched sometime before Heathfield. What area are you in and which direction is the aerial pointing and is it horizontal or vertical?
Midhurst channels are 50, 55, 58, 59, 61, 62
It is not due for a retune until October to free up the 61 and 62 channels for proposed LTE high speed mobile data frequencies.
aldaweb
ParticipantI just replaced an aerial pole for someone receiving from Heathfield up near the M25 services and there was no problem with retuning any channels afterwards (Amplified Hi-gain wide band aerial)
BBCA Mux is now at it’s fullest power (20kW) but the remainder are on 2kW or less since the increase from 1kW in April until DSO stage 2 on 13th of this month. Note SDN doesn’t go to 20kW until 27th June when it switches to 8k mode.
You can ignore CH 47 as it’s the HD Mux and the 9150t won’treceive it. strike that it’s HD after 13th JuneTo be sure you are receiving from Heathfield put your postcode and house number/name into the digital-UK site (link) and click the ‘I am in the trade’ box. The top of the page gives the compass bearings to the most likely transmitters. You can then check which direction the aerial is pointing. North is 0degrees E is 90 etc.
Note – if your aerial is vertical you are on a repeater not the main transmitter (TX). That will still say the parent TX’s name on the Humax.

Thanks for the suggestion, I’m not very technical so apologies but how do I do all that?!
- First Turn off and disconnect from the mains. (and optionally also from TV)
- Undo the 5 screws holding the lid in place, 3 on the back, one on each side.
- Remove the lid
- Wait for at least one minute from the time the power was removed. (this is to allow any residual power to dissipate)
- The hard drive is positioned on the left near the front. Gently prise the ribbon cable away from the drive being careful not to pull it out of the plug.
- Reconnect to the power (and if needed to the TV)
- Power on the unit and see if it boots.
- If it has booted test both tuners using PIP from different MUXes eg BBC1 &ITV1. If you then want to remove the drive to format it the see this video (link) about replacing the clock module as it shows drive removal first. This is at your own risk.
If it doesn’t boot with the hard drive removed the problem could be in a number of places and probably better left to a service centre.

ParticipantHi and welcome to the forum

I can’t help with your problem, but I have a Mybook World Edition that doesn’t serve up mpg files properly to my connected TV though a HP MediaVault does. I think it must be the Twonky server at fault What steps did you take to update Twonky server?
I think the solution for both our problems is probably a different Media server so open to ideas.

ParticipantWhat’s Huawei’s pedigree in the broadcast market?
I’m very familiar with the company in the mobile telecom field but not broadcast.
Incidentally if there were to be an alternative I would like to see see something to rival the Virgin Media Tivo which buffers or records 3 channels simultaneously, ie it has 3 separate buffers, one for each tuner.
