ModeratorTheres a discussion about the HDR T2 here.

ModeratorI don’t understand why the amount of space is so important, unless you know exactly how much space will be used by the programmes you choose to record.
When you buy a PC with 500GB of disk space, you know a fair portion of that will be taken up by the OS, but no-one selling a PC tells you how much that will be.

ModeratorHumax say you can record roughly a number of hours of TV in the specifications. It is impossible to determine exactly how many hours can be recorded due to the differences between bitrates on each TV stream. Therefore, programmes of the same length will take up different amounts of space on the drive when their transmitted bitrates are different.
This is especially true when comparing high-def programmes to standard-def ones.

ModeratorThe syetem will use a fair chunk of disk space for things like record buffer etc. You can rewind live TV so the HDR has to record that information somewhere, and that accounts for a fair proportion of disk space.

ModeratorAh, good point. Thanks for the correction.

ModeratorThis means that your 9300 cannot detect the disk drive. You could try powering off (with the switch at the back), wait a few seconds then power on again.
If this doesn’t work try reseating the hard drive data cable by removing the lid (unplug mains power first!!), then remove and replace the wide, flat grey cable from the rear of the hard drive.
Let us know how you get on.

ModeratorI always hate having to ask one of these questions, but have you tried putting new batteries in the remote? 😳

ModeratorI still use an app called ProjectX. It works very well with my 9200T TS files, so it might be worth a try with the HDR as long as the stream is not HD (DVB-T). It strips all the individual components from the TS stream, and one of those will be an MP2(3) file.
Be warned, however, that it isn’t an intuitive piece of software.

ModeratorHi and welcome.
It sounds like you need to return your box to the place where you bought it for a replacement.

edit: Barry too quick for me again!

ModeratorHi karens and welcome to the forum.
As Martin has already said, please let us know the model of both your own and your mothers Humax boxes.
You should be able to adjust the screen format using the menu. Let us know your model number so we can help.
If your picture is not clear then the problem will probably lie with the connection to your TV or the TV itself. Digital TV has very clear images on all channels – if you get interference it will appear as small coloured squares across the screen rather than a cloudy or ‘snowy’ appearance.
The software on the boxes can be updated automatically but only when the new software is being broadcast. We can help you determine what software version you are running.
I assume both you and your mother have wide-screen TVs….

ModeratorFind your local ITV region from this link and then see if there could be another transmitter in the same direction as Heathfield.
