Struggling to set favourite channels on the TV guide. I thought I just had to move left from the current programme to the channel logo and press ok to mark as favourite. Not working on my HB-1100S.
Good spot – certainly used to work, hence my FAQ
I’ll check with Humax Towers tomorrow to see if this is a planned change, or something that will need to be addressed.

Humax Towers Manager acknowledged my report of this problem, passed to engineering team for investgations.

1. Post moved to HB thread on new software.
2. Re ‘Receiving data’ with only one tuner unit has to access the home transponder to initially download epg data, therefore you cannot watch any other channel until data received and stored – hence the message as per FAQ

I got the replacement box. It seems quite new judging by the serial number and the downward facing leds. But it doesn’t seem a great deal better. I gets very hot and then the drive doesn’t shut down when I put it into standby.
Has anyone else noticed the same problem. You dou have to wait about three minutes after powering down and listen carefully for the drive to stop.

Units never have shut down to full standby immediately.
As per my FAQ it takes approx 1 min 47 secs, just timed one of my units again for confirmation.

So, a supplementary question … is this representative of Humax quality? Can I safely buy a direct replacement?
Not usual Humax quality at all in my experience, and I have at least one of each model connected at the moment – not all used in anger I might add, as I do not watch a lot of TV to be honest.

Can I go into settings on my Humax HB1000S HD and download the (any) software update from there. Or does one have to transfer onto a USB.
When available you can update via:

System Settings
Highlight Software Update and press OK

• Ability to change cable connection set up from settings. Previously, if you had set the box up through installation wizard connecting only one cable, you had to factory reset in order to newly set up for two cable connection. Now you can just re-scan channels from Settings to make connection change from one to two (or any other connection types)
• LED colour not turning to purple whilst recording (HDR-1100S)
• General stability improvements
