Barry, am I correct in thinking that the FVP-4000T wifi was only 2.4ghz? One of the on-line ‘reviews’ today claimed that the FVP-5000T was also 5ghz.
With thanks to Humax Towers Technical Manager for prompt response to my query:
Luke,
4000T/5000T has IEEE 802.11b/g/n dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz support.

Long time since I had one of these connected…from memory (one of members will correct me if wrong)

ModeratorNot a lie at all.
If you had read the FAQ’s – some of which were published, by me, before the unit was available to the general public it would be clear what the minor limitations are.

Don’t you think that is nonsense though? The operation should be obvious, or the manual should detail the steps.
Not at all.
I am not sure if the manual has been updated to reflect the much improved search included with the last software update – caveat I have not looked at current manual online.
It’s not rocket science to work out how to use the facility.

From the FAQ on the Tech Specs tab
Quote:“With the 3 tuners on this unit it is possible to record four channels and watch a fifth across 3 multiplexes.”Those FAQ’s are copied (with our permission) from this site

The general search does no work properly. I recorded Gravity on ITV2 a few days ago. But it only recorded half of it – ITV2 has this stupid habit of breaking films into two sections.
I knew the film was on again, so I used the search function. Not only did it not find the recording I already had, it also could not any showings of the film via the EPG. I had to go to tvguide.co.uk, find the film, then go back to the 4000T to see it in the EPG and schedule the recording (this time it shows that it is recording both halves).
Search term gravity returns results for me.
