I just tried ‘blue pla” and no results were automatically returned for blue planet, however if you highlight search by blue pla and press OK then 4 results are returned.
The initial no results returned is because a search via IP of freeview servers found no entries, hopefully they will correct this.

Sounds like you have the known issue of component failure on main board that has affected a few owners.
The replacement Humax are offering is £229 brand new from Humax Direct.
Personally I would take them up on the offer of refurb @ £55 as replacement for a nearly 4 year old unit.

SD recordings will playback
HD recordings are encrypted and can only be played back on the unit they were initially recorded on…
However…
If you can transfer HD recordings back to original unit recorded on, subject to DRM, and purchased another FVP then you could stream them over you network to new FVP.
Once you have entered search criteria, highlight, in this instance ‘search by longmire’ and press OK.

FVP 5000T issue report to Humax Towers. The new search does not find all results and there also appears to be no special character option.
The current series 5 of Longmire on 5 USA cannot be found via search. No results.
You can use the remote for entering text, there are a few special characters available via 1 and 0 keys.
Just searched on mine for longmire and 14 broadcast results obtained.

Interesting to note Humax haven’t even bothered to change the text printed on the circuit board. Still reads ‘FVP-4000T’…

Post is a little confusing, so bear with me if I have got this completely wrong.
I hazard a guess that you are pressing the record button on a highlighted programme in the guide..
First option should be Record this programme or Record whole series
Second option will be SD or HD….note if you select HD whilst viewing the SD channel option in guide then it may appear as if your timer is not set as you will not see a record icon…scroll down to the HD version of channel and you will see icon.
