ModeratorSkip forward/back is by using the left/right arrow keys around the central OK button.
Barry
ModeratorA few misconceptions being posted here so some corrections…
You do not have to press multiple buttons to use the skip function, press the arrow key corresponding to the direction of skip required displays the timeline, continual presses will skip the duration user has set.
Paging up and down in guide is by pressing the CH up/down button, as is paging in other areas.

Moderator1. I thought it was well known that BBC 1 early evening programmes start a couple of minutes early to allow for the news update at 19:57.
3. With padding your BBC 4 timer starts before the channel is on air.

Someone above talked about which channels I’d been tuned to. I tried to work out which – it’s CH23 for BBC4. But when I went into signal strength, I got a reading of 99-100 for CH23 on Tuner 1 but nowt on tuners 2 & 3 , nor any quality readings either – how do I get to see those ones?
Strength/Quality readings are only displayed when tuner in use ie recording as per FAQ

Barry. Yes, mine was the exact same as yesterday. Do you have padding set on yours?
No padding, should not need it for BBC

No Padding…
There is a known issue whereby the first BBC 4 HD recording of the day is listed with the broken symbol…however the recording plays ok. This has been reported to Humax Towers and acknowledged.
Ah but it didn’t play ok – black screen throughout but sound present. Will check tonight (SD not HD)
BBC 4 SD timer – Beyond 100 Days @ 1900 has recorded, listed with broken symbol but plays back without issue .

Hi all,
Very much looking forward to the delivery today of my new 5000T 2tb, DPD willing. Long-term user of Humax from 9150 to current BT 4K and BT standard box working together to provide 4 channels of record plus an aging Echostar and Hummy Freesat boxes and at various times in the past all things Youview and Freesat inbetween …. even dare I say a Huwy.
I had some missaprehension with respect to the move from Youview as it sort of feels backwards for some reason but I will adjust. I’m hoping that one day, The Humax Gods being willing will extend the netwrok play capability to a Slingbox type function. Dreams are dreams.

I would not call a move from YouView to the FVP 5000T a backward step.
Hopefully after using the FVP 5000T for a few Days, and getting used to the new UI with additional features such as padding, manual timers, edit timers etc you might think similar

Hi all,
Have been working with the 5000T for a few days now. I think I have found an unintended bug. I record a programme that’s broadcast at 7pm on Beeb4 daily. because I’ve switched padding on (tested recordings without and they still miss the first 60 secs or so) and because the *minimum* padding is 3 minutes, the box is reporting it as a failed recording but continues to record sound only.
I can see the error message might be caused by the fact that BBC4 doesn’t start transmitting till 6:59 pm. I never had this problem with my Fox T2 but then we had a choice of 1,2,3 minutes padding – ie not a minumum of 3 (By the way who on earth wants 20 mins padding???)
I’ll see if it’s just a one-off by tonight’s recording and then, if so, change my series record manually to start at 7:02 pm to prove the point.

I’ve had a Humax PVR9150T for many years and apart from the lack of HD channels it’s been so excellent that I’ve avoided replacing it with a newer model.
It’s the third PVR I bought, the first two brands having been completely useless, so I want to stick with Humax if I can.
The PVR9150T’s remote has a “commercial skip” button that enables me to skip forward 30 seconds. I use it not just for commercials but to FF through all manner of drivel and filler material. It’s perhaps the PVR9150T’s most important feature so far as I’m concerned.
But looking at the PDF manual of the new Humax FVP-5000T, which I’m thinking of buying, I can’t see any button for this function on the remote. Can Humax really have dumped such an essential feature?

Can you not just use the Back Button to stop the recording momentarily whilst you read the synopsis etc. as you can on the 4000T?
It’s then a simple matter to restart from where you left off.
Yes you can stop playback and view info in that manner.

ModeratorHumax have not dropped a dead box on the market. The HDR 2000T has been available for a number of years. They can hardly be blamed for prospective buyers not researching info about the unit before buying.
