I would start by taking the remote out of the vicinity to confirm it is the remote causing the problem.
You could also try taking out the batteries, pressing the OK and 0 (zero) button for 30 seconds, re insert batteries see if that fixes problem.
If you registered product with Humax on purchase you may well have 2 year warranty, you can check this with Humax Support.

Hi Barry,
Many thanks for the welcome, any ideas on the Grid view please, this is the most frustrating.
To be honest at this time no…I use List view, but I will set mine to Grid and see if it defaults to list overnight.

oh dear!
I am talking about the white and red Freeview Play button on the 5000t RC that when pressed has on the bottom row Freeview Explore. To get to a,populated set of programmes takes around 20 seconds.
At a guess that must be IP delivered so has exactly the same issues. No way to compare.
Barry will know, Does it work if you don’t have an internet connection ?
With no internet connection none of the IP services work, and user is prompted to connect unit with on screen message.

I get the subs come on without pressing the button quite often (on the 4000), usually when switching inputs.
Edit – this may or may not be relevant.
It would be better if there were a separate subforum for the 5000 IMHO.

I was talking solely about how the new Playview app populates the app with the pictures of suggested programmes from across all channels.
At the moment, I’d say two times out of theee, when I request >Freeview play (button) > Freeview Explore> it either refuses or goes black or eventually if I am persistant it opens up Freeview EXPLORE which for some reason when it opens it is then called Freeview Play. That app as you know consolidates viewing suggestions from across all Freeview channels into one convenient place. It also offers genres but as default opens all. When I eventually get that populated i reckon it is around twenty seconds.
20 seconds is about right for explore to populate fully, same timings via a 4000T and Panny FP unit – wholly defendant on how well the Freeview servers are operating.

ModeratorWhilst I do not need/use subtitles it is one of the things I check regularly across a range of channels both SD and HD…never to date found a problem with sync.
The only issues I have found to date is:
1. Enabling/disabling using the subtitle button sometimes needs 2 presses of subtitle button, as others have mentioned.
2. Once enabled they may take a few seconds to appear, dependant on which channel being viewed.

ModeratorComparing the Freeview play models – FVP 4000/5000T with earlier models, especially SD only models is to be honest ridiculous.
Using page up/down can speed up browsing of recordings list – I have 139 items in my list and it has taken just under 20 seconds to play the last and therefore oldest.

Barry/Graham, I did exactly as you describe to share the photo on my computer. I use Open Office/File Explorer but shouldn't make any difference? Left hand pane on Humax says Internal HDD which I OK'd to give Downloaded which when highlighted and OK'd does nothing. Same error message of no Photo Files available! Mmh…
You have to highlight your computer in left pane….in first image you can see my computer named 'Wallace'…and in the second image 'Wallace' has been highlighted, pressed OK and you can see contents of a folder.

Thanks for that Barry. All I get on my Media – Photo screen is the message No Photo File available. Although I haven’t created a shared video folder on my computer I get the analogous message No Video File available.
What computer operating system do you use? If it is Windows 10 Pro could you write a step by step list of exactly what you do when sharing photo files. As far as I can remember I shared the photo and the folder. Do I need to share the photo aswell as put it in a shared folder? I’m feeling a bit of a dunce here where it should be a straightforward process?
Default message is ‘No photo file available’ with recent in left hand pane highlighted.
Are you highlighting then pressing OK on your computer in the left hand pane?

Interesting – Just tried copying some to my Homegroup photos folder – still can’t see them.
Barry what do you see in your homegroup library folders in Windows Explorer ?

I have the same homegroup set up and all PC/Laptops, then just enabled file and printer sharing across my homegroup.

Struggling to make this work using my 5000T. I have some .jpg files in my Pictures shared folder.
Freeview Play – Media – Selecting My Laptop – Pictures Folder – All Pictures shown no files.
I can play videos (recordings) on my HDR-FOX-T2. I will try uploading a few jpegs to it to see if this works.
Works for me…on FVP 5000T
