Thanks Martin and Repassac. It seems this is a ‘known issue’. One further question. If it is the motherboard fault, will my old recordings still be accessible when the unit its returned, or is the ‘repair’ so drastic as to change the BIOS / encryption handshake (or whatever).
Humax no longer repair units with this issue, they will offer a replacement @ £55.00, so unfortunately your recordings are lost.

I would assume you can use any of the characters that appear on the on screen ‘keyboard’ and your network hub/router can use.
12 characters was only mentioned as my example.

I had assumed that the network server etc would only be functional when the unit was on. Now I understand why the network server has its own timer!
I have server timed so I can access recordings between 5000T and 4000T’s dotted about the place, not that I watch a lot of TV as the quality of programme(s) nowadays is dire imho.
If it was not for helping Humax and this Forum I would give serious consideration to getting rid of TV’s etc, and therefore save some pennies on the licence fee

With Network server etc enabled, to all intents and purposes the unit is on, albeit with video/audio output disabled – pretty obvious I would have thought
The 0.5 figure is obtained with unit in ‘Full’ standby

To use jump on live tv you have to display the timebar first eg press play button then arrow for desired jump – you have to be quick as timebar is only displayed for approx. 3 seconds.

Recordings are only selected for possible delete when the disk is getting full.
The actual delete is done when there is no longer sufficient space for new recordings.
I believe that watched recordings will be deleted first.

Watched recordings in date order, oldest first, then unwatched in date order, again oldest first.
I have tested this a few times on both 4000 and 5000T.

tru entertainment is on channel 61, carried on the SDN mux along with eg channel 10 itv3, channel 20 Drama – all present and correct in my area.
