If I buy a Humax HD-FOX T2 as against an HDR-FOX T2 I assume that I will be able to stream video from the HDR-FOX T2 to the HD-FOX T2 over the LAN.
My other half may object to the additional cost of the HDR option.
Many Thanks for your help.
John
Yes you can do that, but not vice versa – ie HD to HDR

ModeratorYou can stream HDR to HDR via LAN, no FF or RWD but you can skip or use the central control to navigate through a recording.

Sounds like the input source to the TV has been inadvertantly changed, but why usng the TV remote would afffect this I do not know.
Don’t have a Sony TV so this is guesswork until some one eho does perhaps posts better info.
If the Humax remote has been set up to control the TV try (with the Humax on)
Press TV on Humax remote:
Press source button (bottom left hand side button) this may either – cycle the input sources so eventually the picture from Humax will appear, or bring up a menu on screen for you to select the input, if that is the case try each one in turn.

Thanks Barry
Could you advise the name or type of the “Humax Format T2”.
so that I can describe it and take up this issue with Sony.
(Don’t hold out much hope though with Sony though).
Thanks for your help.
Regards John
I see an OTA of new software is being broadcast for your TV from Fri 02 Sep, at a quick glance of Sony website can find no details of what is fixed/improved.

Not a daft question at all.
I use a mains powered hub to connect the dongle and ext HDD, and it works very well. If you intend to use similar then I would recommend the same.

What firmware are you running? Could this co-incide with the v1.00.15 firmware – released in May?
Same with V13 suspect the metadata.

Try just rebooting the unit, ie into and out of standby, this appears to work for some.

ModeratorDave what Biggles is asking is what exactly is displayed, is it
dash dash colon dash dash, or
just 4 dashes
This FAQ which I should really have linked to explains all:

ModeratorIf, as suspected, the TV does not support the Humax TS file format then there is very little Humax can do.

Not sure what you are trying to achieve so bear with me:
1. Can you confirm it is definitely the HDRT2 you are thinking of buying as you have posted this in the HD T2 section (not a problem it can soon be moved)
2. You are correct in that music playback functions are limited, and there is no search function.
3. Not sure re Twonky as I do not use it, but you can ftp to an external HDD attached to a HDR T2.
