Hello. New to your forum. My pvr 9300T is completely frozen.Cannot make it do anything neither by using the remote control nor contyrol buttons on pvr itself. LCD is showing BBC1 & the time. Have tried switching it off & on several times but it remains frozen. Any ideas as to what I can try next ? Thanks
Welcome to the Forum

Sorry you have had to wait a little while for a response.
Power cycle your unit, and once you have a picture, press menu immediately.
Then try and update the software to latest version
Menu
Installation (default password is 0000 – four zeros)
Software update
Automatic update

Mat the reason I asked about error messages is they can give a clue, but if you can also answer the sys id question it might be a pointer (sometimes a wrong sys id won’t result in an error)
Sorry. The sys ID is 1036.7dbd
That is your problem Matt, sys id is wrong.
Do you have the facilities to upload via PC, if not I’m afraid a call to Humax Support is your only answer.

Hi Barry
thanks for the quick response… followed the instruction and it has come up as “Error” “E-HW” and is stuck there. Have tried twice but no further forward I’m afraid.
OK
You need to carry out a default reset…and then try the update again.
Installation menu again option 4 this time Default Setting…..you will loose recording schedule and any user settings you may have tweaked, but that is the least of your worries.

ModeratorWelcome to the Forum Lt Gruber

I am trying to keep up, but it is hard work

The unit will normally search for an update at 4am as long as it is in standby.
You can change the time it searches, or carry out a manual update.
Try this now if you do not have latest version, and the box is not locked of course, if it is, power cycle, and when you get a picture press menu staight away.
Menu
Installation (default password is 0000 – four zeros)
Software update
Automatic update
Unit should then search for and find software version 1.00.26, press OK to update.

If you have a read through the pinned thread at the top of forum (I know it is a little long now) all will become clear.
Bottom line is you probably have old software on board, update to the latest tomorrow after 10 am for a 9150.

It will not install if the default time is still set to 4am, it won’t search until early hours friday morning.
You can of course manually update at 4pm.
so if i run a manual update at say 4pm this will automatically pick up any update, but will i have to go through every channel, can i not just run the automatic update at 4pm
See page 2 of this thread post #12 where I posted a link to a pdf you can download that explains the update procedures. it might become clearer then, if not then ask away.

software version is 1.00.06
I have already tried the Auto update and Manual update this evening. It doesn’t find the new update.
Matt
Software version 1.00.26 for the 9300 is definitely on air, well from my transmitter it is anyway as I updated using this route earlier after tests.
Do you get any error code displayed on the front display?

sounds like we all need to leave in standby mode tomorrow, but how do we get it into standby mode if the machine cannot be switched off
Welcome to the Forum

Power cycle the unit, and if it does not boot to standby, put it immediately into standby.
Bear in mind the default time for OTA search is 4am, so you would need to change this if you want it to auto update tomorrow whilst at work etc.

My 9300T is doing the same. But it never seems to find the updates even when I force it to search for updates (when they are available). Is there anything I can do to ‘help’ it find the updates?
Welcome to the Forum

What software version do you currently have on the 9300?
The latest 9300 is currently on air, see page 2 of this thread post #12 from me, there you will find a pdf you can download that explains the update procedures.

More thanks for Barry et al – great forum. Our 9150T started freezing today. The Mrs’ immediate reaction was to try to talk me into getting Sky as it is out of warranty. Me, who is less keen to throw away pennies (especially in Murdoch’s direction), thought I would dig a bit deeper.
Have printed the OTA PDF ready for tomorrow. The upgrade schedule is here
Welcome to the Forum

I always use the DTG website for up to date info on OTA’s

ModeratorWelcome to the Forum mwsomerton:-)
The unit has to be in standby to auto update.
When you get home from work tomorrow you will have to initiate a manual update unless you change the update time to something after 10 am, and leave the unit in standby whilst you are at work.
