ModeratorDon’t really know is the honest answer Martin, but with the correct cables of course there are a few things we could try.
Upload the software, loader or even a default file to try and regain control of the unit.

ModeratorI fear you are going to need cables to try and restore the unit by uploading, however you could try switching the power off for a while and see if that helps.

ModeratorWelcome to our Forum Brian

The latest firmware for the 9300 is 1.00.26
Can be checked via: Menu, System, Status.
Not sure why it is switching off, cannot say I remember anyone else reporting the same before.

Guide to updating via PC:
[url=http://www.tynecomp.co.uk/flash9200.htmlhttp://www.tynecomp.co.uk/flash9200.html
There seems to be a problem with the above url in the 1st post of this thread, the first part links to this site, and perhaps should be deleted, but the second part is correct.
Many thanks, now fixed

I have also had my 9159T freeze up, no reaction to either remote or unit switches even after power down/power up. I have now disconnected the antenna leads and have some reaction, so where do I go from here? Do I need to download software to my laptop, and will this work with a Mac? Any assistance much appreciated. I was about to bin this and go buy new, until I happened on this forum
Welcome to our Forum

You have not stated what version os software you currently have uploaded.
The next OTA does not start until the 26th Dec at 10 am (for the 9150)
See first post in this thread for links on how to upload via OTA (when transmitted) or PC.

ModeratorHi zoids, and welcome to our Forum

Could be a number of reasons, but the first thing to try is a defualt reset, however the software is not transmitted again until the 26 Dec commencing at 10 am.
Unless of course you have the necessary cables and can update from PC:

Um, might be being thick here but those instructions say to put in the 0000 code and I can’t see that can do this with the buttons on the unit. Remote not working – no red light
If the box is locking before you get chance to input the password, then try this (as at post #103)
1. Unplug aerial
2. Switch on
3. Use menu to set automatic update (and an appropriate time if necessary)
4. Exit menu
5. Place in standby
6. Plug in aerial
7. Wait for the automatic update
As you have a 9300 and the OTA is currently being broadcast, set a time convenient during the Day today, place unit in standby and wait.

ModeratorThere has not been any new software, just the same as last week.

Thanks Barry so it is a software issue rather than an hardware issue.
Still some hope that the issues can be corrected.
As I understand it – yes.
Will update as soon as I get anything definitive from Humax Towers.

ModeratorNo and No
Barry
ModeratorNo of course not. It is as I guessed at post #2
Barry
ModeratorI would just like to clarify something re the 4GB issue.
Whilst it is true I have mentioned this to Humax in passing we were discussing something else of greater importance.
They have not acknowledged that the problem exists they are just aware – big difference.
Will there be a fix? I do not know at this time.

1. Remove batteries (no, there aren’t any screws to remove!) You can snap the battery door back shut again as it doesn’t need to be off to get the main case apart. (but you do need the batteries out so that the springs release easily)
2. Find yourself a small very thin penknife blade (I used a Swiss Army Knife one – the smallest blade)
3. Without the knife, just get hold of the remote with both hands at each end and twist it back and forth to make sure it will flex.
4. The indents are on the top plate at regular intervals. The “hooks” are on the side of the base. You just need to find the first one to spring…
5. Holding the remote horizontally, i/r window to the left (I’m right handed) with the side of the remote facing you, peak over the top and draw an imaginary line across the remote towards you from the top of the “OPT+” button.
6. Where this “line” comes over the edge, place the point of your knife in the join and push in with a firm pressure. You should hear a click and the case will start to part…
7. Quickly put your thumbnail in the opening and twist… The next catch is about 6cm up on that side (line across the “MEDIA” & “GUIDE” buttons.
8. Once you get these two open, the rest are relatively plain sailing. They are ALL the same, all the way round; even at the ends. Pressure on the top plate inside the gap releases them. The bottom compartment is over them.
9. Remember that everything is carried by the upper plate (the circuit board and button rubber is lightly clipped to it); including the battery springs which should lift out of their holders as you prise the cases apart.
10. Voila! One Humax remote disassembled.
Putting it back together is simpler, you just need to remember to assemble everything into the top plate (under the latches either end for the circuit board) and then offer up the battery springs first as you place the two halves together…
