How are you trying to select a HD channel?
eg if via guide and the programme has already broadcast then you will get no entry sign.
What happens if you try using the numeric buttons?

A bit remiss of me, I should have welcomed you to our Forum in my first response to you
The reason I asked you to double check that is because in oiginal post you mentioned analogue channels, this has got to be a TV menu item as Humax unit does not have an analogue tuner.
So if you are definite that you are selecting the correct input on the TV, then try pressing PVR button then Menu on Humax remote, if still no picture displayed, try pressing V-Format button on Humax remote.
If still unsuccessful, I would try connecting via scart and see if you can get a picture, just to prove all is well with HD T2
Would appear to me that you are not selecting the correct input on the TV to view the Humax, you need to select via the TV remote the HDMI input the unit is connected to.
If you know the TV model number then post it in reply, someone may then be able to guide you in more detail.
I do not have any Philips products, so would guess that there is a button on the TV remote marked source?

This site is primarily aimed at UK users however a few things to check.
1. That the PVR is selected on the remote before pressing any other key.
2. You can check the remote is actually sending a command by viewing the IR window on it via a digital camera.
3. In the UK we can change the code the remote uses to 1 of 6 see this FAQ try changing the code.

To early to state if those functions will be added at a later date, certainly not available at launch.

This was something the triallists pointed out very early on. Something Humax that do not seem to learn as it was for a long time the same with their Foxsat HDR.
Not something I remember, and Humax were not aware until I pointed it out to them this week. I have carried out further tests and found other issues now, which I will discuss with them next week.
Whilst I appreciate that users have stated no power failures it should be noted that my tests have revealed there is an issue in this respect.
If the unit has mains power removed either deliberately, or power failure, then whilst the clock does reset on power restore, subsequent timers will fail until the unit is standby cycled.
Note: I have only tested this in high eco mode, with rf loop enabled so time indicated on front display.

My HDR-1000S is being delivered from Humax Direct next Thursday 18th. Been a long wait,but really looking forward to it.

So just over 6 Weeks from the official announcement of freesat <freetime> to hopefully users getting sticky mitts on a unit – not that bad.

Barry is there any update to the ability of the HDR-1000s working at launch with the T2 box wifi dongle ?
Latest is that it will indeed work from launch using that dongle.
There has been some utter codswallop posted in other places re delivery of this product, including some nonsense about delivery from Far East.
1. The 1000S is not manufactured in the Far East.
2. Expect to be available mid to end of next Week ie from 17 Oct 2012
