    There is no problem with the second tuner other then as per our FAQ, which in all honesty can hardly be described as an issue.

    Whilst you are not inclined to tinker during the early stages of warranty, and no one can blame you for that, there is not a lot you can do. Another solution entails the removal of a filter, but this means opening the unit up.

    No point in providing a link on how to due to your comments on warranty.

    I have no news re other broadcasters on demand services becoming available via the portal.

    Options, Humax products:

    Youview – which has all the main on demand services now.

    Freesat G2 – iplayer and itvplayer available now with C4 and C5 services available in the future (no timescales)

    Update as I have been reading reports in other places.

    1. Reports of EPG freezing – If users mean once in guide it appears to freeze with ‘receving programme information’ then carry out a freesat tune but do not save the result, this will force an EPG reload next time you press guide.

    2. If your unit is rebooting when using the ‘find’ function, then do the same ie a freesat retune and do not save the result, again this to refresh the EPG and hopefully clear the invalid character that appears to have caused the problem.

    For info, the reboot issue using find function cleared for me yesterday.

    The find function problem was spotted today by another user, and confirmed by members of this Forum.

    The issue has been highlighted to Humax Towers.

    Initial investigations may point to an invalid character in the EPG data, freesat have been informed.

    As you mention recordings in your post I assume you have the Foxsat HDR, and will therefore move this thread to correct area later – Admin Edit: Done.

    Mine failed to record Top Gear last night and Africa the other day. Very frustrating and totally unreliable.

    When I ever stop watching live TV I always put the box into Standby. Are we saying we should not be doing this and rely on the auto standby function at around midnight until a fix is found?

    Have you updated to the latest beta software – see top post on forum front page.

    If you are sure the unit is not recording, and with unit in standby.

    1. Insert usb stick into front or rear usb socket.

    2. Press and hold channel down on front of unit whilst pressing the standby button simultaneously.

    3. Update should then commence, if you have your tv on you should see the progress.

    4. When complete ‘end’ will appear on the front display, and a message on TV screen will advise you to reboot.

    5. Remove usb stick and press standby button to reboot.

    If you check carefully you will note that the conflicts are dated for next Sunday 3/2 this is because the EPG entries for that date only have series crids annotated to them presently so it is trying to set them all which obviously it cannot.

    Options:

    1. Record in HD

    2. Just set a single timer for SD variant this week, and hope the BBC correct next weeks EPG entries.

    Certainly worth a try uploading the default file, and/or the latest software.

    Instructions for applying the latest software update are included with the zip file, and are the same for the default file linked to earlier.
