ModeratorIgnoring the fact that the unit appears unresponsive.
Just press 2580 on the remote keypad.

Moderator1. They is a known problem where consecutive recordings might fail if using V26 latest software.
2. Ensure you are only tuned to one transmitter:

ModeratorMike – you could try this from our FAQ’s the next time it happens
http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/if-unit-appears-to-be-unresponsive-to-remote
rather then mains recycling, the bit in bold is important.
You could also try a HDD clean up which I know has helped one member – have not had any further feedback from them so no idea if it helped permanently.
Admin note – Moved to correct area.

ModeratorTis strange one I must admit, have seen a few reports of similar, surprised support did not offer any advice to you as they must be aware of this.

You could try maintenance mode and reload software:

If that fails then I’m afraid unit will have to be swapped out.
Was unit bought from retail or provided by BT?

ModeratorNo definitive news on next version and OTA as yet.

Can you confirm which freesat PVR you have, Foxsat HDR or HDR 1000S with freetime.
Barry
ModeratorWelcome to the Forum

Presumably you have a HDR T2 dual tuner PVR.
Were you recording something else on another channel?

Quote:froze when updating channels and softwareWhat version of software is currently uploaded?
A factory reset would appear to be a good place to start.
Barry
ModeratorYou won’t void your warranty by uploadng the ‘beta’ version.

1 Channel removed:
Chan 308 – UMP MOVIES

ModeratorThe file listed here under HDR-1000S:
http://beta.humaxonline.co.uk/freesat-hd
is as I suspected a default file, uploading will revert unit to factory condition, including resetting the pin, timers, user configured settings – recordings are not deleted.
I have just used it myself to ensure nothing untoward happens.
Edit: Pin reset via hidden menu will be available in a future update.

ModeratorWell for a start you need to upgrade the software as this does fix at least one of the recording issues, probably two in fact.
Having reviewed your posts on here not one mentions problems with recording 2 channels – continue that issue in another thread that is relevant or start a new one if you still require help, after you have uploaded new softwareof course.
I’ll repeat this one last time, thread is to remain on topic ie about software version 1.00.22

There is no problem with the second tuner other then as per our FAQ, which in all honesty can hardly be described as an issue.
Not in the slightest bit true; the second tuner is also preventing second recordings from taking place too; a further issue within the software Humax are aware of.
Every instance I have seen reported has been associated with poor connections, or set up incorrectly – caveat not including any reports on the freesat community forum which is as much use as the proverbial.
and
Since the advent of 1.00.22 I have personally not witnessed any recording failures, or seen any reported for that matter.
There is no problem with the second tuner, bar the strength/quality indication which has been explained time and time again in many places.
Now back on topic for this thread please.
